Bit of a shame that he doesn't have any sort of consistency, because he showed last night on his day, he can be just unbelievable, but, you get his bad side as well, plus he is a bit of a liability in the field.
At last a Victory to the Bulls at home. Only made 153 batting first, but Tassie struggled throughout.
The turning point was Paine being run out when the fielder dived with the ball & collected the stumps. Paine was out of his ground but I don't know if the fielder broke the stumps with the ball, his head or his chest.
The commentators said it didn't matter as long as he had the ball in his hand, any part of his body could break the stumps. Greg Blewett then queried this with no answer forthcoming, saying it would be odd if you caught a return from the field with one hand & broke the stumps with the other.

Doesn't sound right to me. You can break the stumps with your hand as long as you are holding the ball with that hand as well.

That must be straight-out wrong.
EJ Smith will be able to fill us in, but I think there was some kind of media frenzy in the 70's when Rod Marsh tapped the stumps with his foot fractionally bfore h rmoved the bails.

I always thought it was just the ball or any hand touching the ball up to your wrist as if you were wearing a batting or keeping glove
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

It might be a timing issue but I have noticed that Hodge and Symonds don't seem to be as effective as they were when they had full schedule. Could the lack of cricket be hindering their performances?
I'm not a fan of these semi retirements but I think there is a possibility of this 'half in' approach might turn two otherwise dominate limited over cricketers into just mere mortals.
