Not sure if many people heard Darren Berry's view on our effort last night but I agreed with it because we were overly cautious early on. Watson will need to have a great series with the bat for us to be a genuine contender.

Johnson's taken 8 wickets in the first 2 games, hopefully he's got his confidence up now and he has a standout series.

Its all been thanks to the tight line and length he has bowled which is...surprising to say the least

India v England sounded like a cracker. We're not going to be able to chase down some of these massive scores me thinks, unless Watto dines out.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

I watched the reply of the India/ England game and really England shouldve won that. Khan bowled brilliantly during the batting powerplay and the wickets of Bell and Strauss in the one over turned it back to India. Needing 28 off the last 2 overs it looked gone until Bresnan, Swann and Shehzad hit out to get them in a good position. Swann could only manage 1 run off the last ball to tie the game. Strauss batted really well. It was a game India wouldve expected to win easily with 339 on the board, but England certainly fought it out, and it will bring India back to the fold i think, while giving the poms much needed confidence after their drubbing in Australia.

I think the Sri Lanka game will give us a real idea of where Australia is in this World Cup.

Chasing a mammoth total of 327 and being 5/111 or so, it was a magnificient win.

So Hussey's bitching & whinging pays off and he is back in the squad after Doug the Rug succumbs to injury.

The selectors must have been impressed with Mr. Cricket's fine contribution in his return match for WA... FWIW he made 19 off 53 & 11 off 40.

But we've also sent over Nanness to train and stay with the squad and to get aclimatised as a back up should we get an injury. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the ICC's 15 man squad?

Why didn't we just send a squad of 20 to begin with and just call 5 of them back ups just in case?

The same way Johnson was told to go back to shield cricket and get some form, didnt play a game and was picked a test later.

It's a stupid selection and means we now have an unbalanced side.

How is it unbalanced? We've added a batsman and a bowler for the loss of Dougie.

I for one are happy for Hussey to be back in the squad and the sooner he's back in the side the better. Before this injury he was in awesome touch.
