Re: 2011-12 EPL Thread
I'll tell you how much I hate Chelsea Remi. When my wife was pregnant & we were thinking of names, she said she like Chelsea!I said, there's no way I'm going to name a daughter of mine after a soccer team I despise!! For those interested, my daughter's name is Brooke.

Re: 2011-12 EPL Thread
Always hated Chelsea even when they were a pub team & even more since Abramovich came on board, sorry Chef, but I do find Chelsea contemptible & as much as Remi thinks I hate Manyoo, I supported them against Chelsea in the Champions League Final in Moscow.
That said, I loved watching Zola play & respected the job the late Matthew Harding did at Stamford Bridge.85, 92, 97, 98, 08, 09, 10... Break the curse!Comment

Re: 2011-12 EPL Thread
So, who's going to a) win the title, b) qualify for Champions League & c) get relegated?
Top 2
Man Utd - 73pts, 47GD, 74GS
Man City - 70pts, 50GD, 72GS
Going to be huge when these 2 meet at Eastlands on 30 April.
3&4
Arsenal - 58pts, 22GD, 61GS
Tottenham - 55pts, 18GD, 53GS
Chelsea - 50pts, 15GD, 49GS
Newcastle - 50pts, 2GD, 44GS
Arsenal on a great run at present & after an awful start have got their act together. 4th I still fancy Spurs.
Relegation
Blackburn - 28pts, -19GD, 28GS
Bolton* - 26pts, -25GD, 33GS
QPR - 25pts, -20GD, 33GS
Wigan - 25pts, -28GD, 27GS
Wolves - 22pts, -34GD, 31GS
*Bolton have a game in hand.
Super effort in my view from Blackburn & kudos to their Manager, Steve Kean who has had to endure an awful year with fans baying for his blood right from the start of the season. I think the bottom 3 are gone.85, 92, 97, 98, 08, 09, 10... Break the curse!Comment

Re: 2011-12 EPL Thread
Disgrace might be the wrong word, but did you not see the hand ball(or swot) goal, the then celebration and subsequent yellow card against Wigan?

b) Man U ,Man C, Arse and Chelsea for top 4. If we can get results against Liverpool and Arsenal we should be able to overhaul Spurs who seem to be running out of puff. But then looking at our schedule it's going to be a huge ask if we stay alive in the FA cup and CL.
c) Wolves, Wigan and QPR to drop down for me. Steve Kean has done an awesome job considering the circumstances.Last edited by chef; 27-03-2012, 05:34 PM.The curse is dead.Comment

Re: 2011-12 EPL Thread
Hence the rolled eyes previously. I didn't think he swatted the ball. The ref rightly called a foul for the nudge & I felt the ball hit his arm.85, 92, 97, 98, 08, 09, 10... Break the curse!Comment

Re: 2011-12 EPL Thread
Yes I am, I fully expected to be right in it for a top 4 position. Carved out a multitude of chances & hit the bloody woodwork more times than any other team. Just not converting, Agger injured shows how past it Carragher is. The side appears too unsettled from one week to the next. About the only consistants are Renia in goal, Skirtl at centre back & Enrique at left back.85, 92, 97, 98, 08, 09, 10... Re: 2011-12 EPL Thread
In the 80's they got relegated and really only had Kerry Dixon as there best player.
In the 90's they were getting mid teen crowds and not the power they are now.
Tend to remember Chelsea having a National Front following back in the dayComment
