Just another cracking match - Tim Howard had the game of his life but then the best chance of the entire match went to the US just before full time. Klinsmann would have buried that in his sleep, even at his current age.

The last 10 minutes of extra time were intense - US were fresher and fitter and completely dominated their more talented opponents. That set piece free kick was brilliant and they were very stiff not to score from it - great keeping to be fair.

It could well be. Though I don't particular thing they are very good. Colombia were poor today. Germany are tough and will be hard to crack. Germany would fancy their chances against this Brazil outfit.

I think Argentina will win the tournament - much to my dislike as I think they will beat Belgium and my beloved Netherlands.

Not really, was more spare parts for us(at CB and in the CM) and he's given us a bonus/extra 50mil to spend on our squad it's probably more of a blessing.

Plus as any Chelsea supporter will tell you he's great in games that matter, but a huge liability when the stakes aren't so high.

They'll go close. But they have a huge hole in the striker position, Silva's out for the next game which is a huge loss and Neymar may be injured.

Brasil v Germany is going to be huge.

Neymar out of the cup with a fractured vertebrae.

                  Huge loss.

Fair enough. I don't watch many (if any) Chelsea games so wasn't aware that he was only a spare parts player - I would've thought a player of his ability would be a walk up start. 50 million is a decent amount to be getting for him. What did he cost Chelsea when they bought him?

23 mil I'm pretty sure what he cost, it was a pretty complicated deal with Matic going to Benfica too who we later bought back.

At Chelsea he was behind Terry and Cahill as a CB and as a CM(where he is also decent) he was behind Matic, Ramires, Oscar and I guess you could now add Fab.

He is prone to a fair few Brain Lake style brain fades, and they are fair more costly in the round ball game.

Cheers chef. Decent CB's - no wonder he struggled to be a regular then. From what I have seen of him this campaign he has been one of Brazil's better players in a team that hasn't really shone (I say that bearing in mind that they have made the SF of the world cup).

All in all a good sale then for Chelsea especially if you have Matic back playing for you guys.

Anyway back to the Cup - what are your thoughts on the Argentina v Belgium game tonight.

Tough one to predict. Both clubs haven't really hit top form, but are still getting the job done. I really can't pick a winner here(this game screams 1-0), will probably come down to Messi and Courtois.

It really is a tough one to predict. I slightly favour Argentina just because of the Messi factor. Interesting that he never scored against Courtois. I am with you on the score line. For Belgium to win one player that really needs a huge game is the player from your mob, Hazard. He has started the tournament slowly but started to have more influence against both Russia and the US.

Head says Argentina but will be gunning for a Belgium victory.

Yep, another bit of a quirk is Messi's never scored against Chelsea in nine games against us. Hopefully Courtois can keep the jinx going.

Hopefully Lukaku starts on the bench again and is used as a sub, he has so much more of an impact like that. Agree that Hazard needs to play well for Belgium to win.
