        Re: The World Cup Thread.

Who would've seen that coming. Thought Germany would win by maybe a goal but 7-1 wow. That must rank as the most dominant win in the history of WC football. There have been 7 and 8 goal thrashings but nothing like that in the semi finals (not that I can remember). Germany were good, very good but Brazil were extremely poor (except for the first 10 mins) but once Muller scored (and that was atrocious defence -probably the worst that I have seen) Germany dominated and the floodgates opened.

Going on that display you would think Germany would be shoe in to win the WC, but.............it will be a completely different story in the final.

Brazil started great! Then some poor defending (positioning) and Muller was left all alone! As soon as that 2nd goal came Brazil panic and push numbers forward. surprisingly pushing numbers forward for Brazil wasn't the problem, it was them not tracking their man (mainly German midfield just walking through with nobody following them) and created extra space and 2 on 1 situations.. I have never seen such poor defensive work... Incredible.

The final is a whole different story, especially if Netherlands beat Argentina tomorrow can't wait!

Imagine that. Let's hope it is revenge for the 1974 Final. But can they beat Argentina to get there - heart says yes; head says maybe.

50mil for Luiz has to be the deal of the Century Chef Im still shaking my head at how he was valued at that price.

Did the Captaincy go to his head? Obviously I don't watch many Chelsea games, but he was absolutely terrible, left flat footed the Entire game.

With the outs Brazil had I expected it to be easy, but 7-1 WOW. Been on the Germans from the start so the 5 bucks I got Im happy with. Expecting it to be Argentina, the Dutch luck will end.

Germany to strong across the board for both teams.

Not sure I have ever seen such a capitulation. Amazing.

Can't help but feel for Brazil as a nation, but that was disgraceful defending.

I think the Netherlands will account for Argentina given that di Maria is injured and Augero isn't fit.

I've been watching some of the Crowd Highlights and it's truly heartbreaking stuff. They really do live for the sport.

                            too harsh?

Some of the tweets at the end are pretty hilarious.

                              Re: The World Cup Thread.

Not often that a 7-1 scoreline flatters the loser but it certainly did this morning. That was as inept a defensive performance as I have ever seen in world football. Had Mesut Ozil buried his 1-on-1 with the keeper in the 89th minute as he should have, the scoreline would have ended up being 8-0.

When all is said and done, this was a very ordinary Brazilian squad, the worst I've seen in my lifetime. Reckon they did well to get to the semis to be honest.

Credit to Ze Germans - they were outstanding today in all facets of the game. Huge chance to win on Sunday

He needs a strong defensive partner eg. Terry or Tiago Silva to cover for him and to keep him in check mentally. Paring him with Dante, who is just as flaky was always going to be a recipe for disaster.
