Fair enough, two innings isn't much of a sample size though. He got 22 off 18 balls against England and was out to a really good ball, and was second top scorer against NZ with 34 out of 151.

Warner's an excellent cricketer, but is a pain in the arse as a person .

I'm not really interested in a personal relationship. Just watching him smack bowling attacks all over the ground.

Nice win for Ireland last night, they're a well drilled unit and probably the best fielding side in the competition. If they had a quick man or two in that lineup I think they could seriously push the mid tier sides like Pakistan and England.

Big game today, playing in Sydney definitely helps the Sri Lankans on what is a fairly dry and turning track apparently. X-Doherty is a possibility to be recalled, he did pick up four wickets against Sri Lanka not too long ago

It could all unravel for us today. Faulkner not quite 100%, Clarke underdone and Cummins might not play again means we need a couple of players to really stand up.

The signs havent been good since we had the game against, I can't remember, was washed out. We didn't play for a fortnight and the batsman played like batsmen who hadn't had a hit four a fortnight.

              Is Faulkner in the team?

Yes. Watson and Doherty in, Hazlewood and Marsh out.

Pretty happy with Clarke's form thus far, has taken some pressure and rotated himself to 42 from 51. This is the job he's expected to do, soak pressure when wickets fall early and keep things ticking. If Watson makes runs at five I feel much more secure in the fragmented batting which remains our weak point. Historically he is probably our greatest ever ODI all-rounder.

Clarke is starting to look a bit sore to me. Quick singles seem to have dried up.

Silly shot from Smith, he didn't need to do that with Clarke falling to Malinga in the previous over. Just lost his head with 18 overs still to come

After just losing a wicket and the need to ensure the next batsman gets settled it was a silly shot.

Maxwell has answered the challenge though and if he can stick around for 60 plus deliveries we will get a good score.

It's helped take a heap of pressure off Watson as well, that tremendous confidence from Maxwell must be at least somewhat infectious. Anything that takes Watson out of his own head and gives his batting a sense of purpose and a clear job to accomplish must be a good thing

Watson has been solid in this innings so far and we will need him to bowl a few others to split the 3 left arm quicks and left arm spinner.

250 after 40 overs is a great spot. We need these two to still be there by the 45 over mark.

While it's exciting to watch a lot of runs being scored in the manner Maxwell and Watson are hitting them I don't like the idea of 700 runs being scored in day. I still prefer to see a game where the bowlers have some say in dictating things.

I can't believe that Maxwell just knocked back his century. Ian Gould asked him if he'd knicked the ball onto his pads for the single for his 100 and Maxwell said no! He stays on 99. I'd have said yep, I definatly hit that ump.

I hope he gets another run.
