Luke "Rhino" O'Sullivan was one of the great eckers. He played 62 games across 10 seasons for Carlton.

I remember him faceplanting at Waverley when some newly laid turf shifted. It would have been comical if not for the serious knee injury he sustained.

I remember that. Shocking ground and awful venue.

The game where O'Sullivan did his knee at Waverley was against the Bulldogs in the 1993 Fosters Cup. The ground surface was a cow paddock as Peter McKenna said in the coverage. I had actually forgot how bad the ground was. Crazy they actually allowed the game to go ahead.

That's the game. I somehow merged the De Lulio faceplant and the O'Sullivan injury in my memory. Don't think De Lulio was injured so we can laugh at that one.

Seems like they just chucked some rolls of turf down in the arvo and thought she'll be right. Maybe there had been a concert or something there as the surface should have been pristine in the pre-season.

A big badonkadonk if I remember correctly. A rump that would shake. A butt that just wouldn't quit.

Owned / ran the Hi-Fi Bar with a few other AFL players too from memory. Maybe Ang Christou and Richo were involved, could be wrong.

Lachie Sullivan started as sub but has now joined the first kick, first goal club.

Has looked a bit off the pace and missed some tackles, I can understand the comparisons to McComb.

Good luck to him, hope he can hold a spot in the pies side but tonight will be a night he never forgets regardless.
