Re: MRP thread 2017
As long as we don't lose then either have a player with a week's suspension hanging over his head going into the new salon or we are trying to trade a player with a week's suspension hanging over his head. It's just an extra complication we don't need or Big Jack needs.
Having said that, every fibre of my being is screaming "appeal the bloody decision" at me.They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

As for the Greene incident, it was clearly in the too hard basket for them to properly handle.Last edited by Sedat; 15-08-2017, 09:45 PM."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

Re: MRP thread 2017
It's not that. The are simply an incompetent organisation who follow instead of lead. They allowed jumper punches to fester on their watch, and then proceeded to then smash a walnut with a sledgehammer mid season. Meanwhile they have dropped the ball on 'head is sacrosanct' and have been completely beholden to outcomes rather than actions - if Wines broke Langdon's jaw, he goes from 0 weeks to probably 5-6 weeks FOR THE SAME INCIDENT. That is a system that is fatally flawed and needs urgent surgery in the off-season

Re: MRP thread 2017
The MRP as it is currently constituted, is incapable of delivering open and fair outcomes.
What the AFL need to do is remove the past players from the panel, as they clearly have a conflict of interest.
The panel needs to be established with a selection of people from judiciary/law enforcement backgrounds that can objectively look at each case and deliver consistent outcomes.
This needs to be separate from any other AFL involvement other than the application of the rules as they are laid down.Life is to be Enjoyed not EnduredComment

Even with the bolded part, it's almost random how they decide when the action is more important or the outcome. If a player doesn't get hurt by a bump and the bumper gets suspended then they trot out that the action is more important but in this case the only thing that mattered was the outcome.
It's just mind boggling. Same with Greene where they have said that he did something wrong resulting in a fine but they also classified it as misconduct which meant that it wouldn't have given him an automatic one week suspension since a misconduct fine is separate from stuff like rough conduct.Comment

Re: MRP thread 2017
What a laughing stock the AFL is becoming. Zero integrity. It's just embarrassing and players sound like they're losing faith

Watching 360 last night I couldn't help but feel that Robbo, & Gerard for that matter, had to have been shocked and enlightened that their 3 players on the show, Lewis / Riewoldt & Bob, were unanimous and strong in their condemnation of the Greene karate kick to the head of Dahl given the whole 'Greene - the persecuted victim' line that Robbo had been spinning all week; With Robbo appearing to look like a stunned rabbit in the spotlight, that the players far more credible thoughts could be so at odds against what he'd been pushing out, and garnering common support from his other media pals, all week.
To their absolute credit, the players response last night seemed completely at odds with Robbo's, Gerard's and so many of the other media cronies that were advocating hard for Greene to be let off this reckless act.
And where's Gil and his team through this debacle to bring much needed strong leadership and direction? Nowhere to be found.Comment

Our own poster, Boydogs tweeted vision of Greene kicking Mclean in the prelim, into his chest.
This stuff must stop, it is dangerous and gutless when going for a mark (or handball receive), someone is bound to be seriously injured. Imagine those stops in Dahl's eyes. MRP had the opportunity to find Greene guilty of rough play and he would have been on his third strike and outed. Most people would have been satisfied with that, but no, they had to change the umpires charge to misconduct.FFC: Established 1883

So know has 2 fines for misconduct and 1 other fine. He is still 2 (non misconduct) fines away from being suspended.Comment
