    Charging covers it.

People will argue that Cleary went to ground in a sliding motion, which he did, albeit with enough pressure behind him to justify doing so. Archer was completely reckless in that he didn't try to stay on his feet either, rather, he essentially attempted to do the same thing but late and without pressure.

Put Cleary's mitigating circumstances for going to ground, plus Archer's flagrant disregard for his opponent's safety by doing the same without rear pressure and late and the suspension should be maintained.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

This pic says it all. Cleary has the ball at least 2 metres before Archer is anywhere near it.

I don’t understand how anyone can think it’s an archer free

It will be a big night I'd love to hear how these are argued.

Hopefully the tribunal ups it to 5 weeks based on clear intent to injure rather than being just careless.

Watching the vision from behind Archer, you can see Luke turn his head to the side when he realizes that contact is inevitable - that may have saved his life as a full blooded knee to the face or forehead can be fatal.

Bevo thinks it shouldn’t be suspended. Thinks there should be more weight given to intent, and the system more closely reflect civil law principles.

No one ever mistook Luke for an intelligent guy.

I completely agree with Bevo that the system should be weighed towards intent. But it's not. The AFL suspends people for tackles gone bad every week, I see this as no different.

What was the intent? Did he even bend down and try and get the ball?

It probably means that it will be downgraded to a 2 weeks suspension.
I like the way both he and Mitchell shut down talk of reducing the quarters and therefore the game.
Garrrie Lyon is fighting for the TV rights not for the benefit of the game.

Scrimshaw has to be joking right. it wasn’t malicious but he whacked him in the head and concussed him. If he gets off I’d be amazed.

Unintentional. Just a footy act, an accident.

He missed the memo from the coach.
