This must strengthen West Coast interest in Roughead and perhaps English which I can't see us being prepared to deal
What could West Coast possibly offer us to bite at an English trade? I can’t think of much. It’d take something overs from their end

I agree it's a very unlikely scenario but teams do seen to be able to find a way for deals to be struck

You’d consider a trade for English?

What's the logic there for him? Go from being the backup to Natinui to being the backup to Ryder?

Probably not but it doesn't hurt to hear how some of our players are rated by clubs.

Ryder is fairly injury prone and nearing the end. Lycett goes there with a view to being the number one ruck half the season and permanently long term, while also securing more money and a move back home to the club he was drafted from.

              Makes complete sense.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

true but so is NicNat. He’s going somewhere to be second ruckman again for the next 1-2 years whereas he’d play 22 games for saints next year if fit.

Lycett is South Australian...going home would have a fair bit of appeal I think.

                    Well, they could offer Shuey.

Or they could offer a combination of players that centre on their own recent first round picks being Venables (Keillor Park kid) or Brander who I think was from Bendigo. They have other kids like Petruccelle who I think was either Cannons or Knights who could be used to sweeten the pot.

I guess if they were to offer us Venables and Petruccelle for English the club would have to have a LONG + Hard think about it.

I haven't watched enough of WC to know if Venables has shown much & I know even less about Petrucelle but they'd have to be absolute rolled gold guaranteed jets for me to be comfortable with even considering an English trade.

I might be overly bullish but I honestly think he's the second most important player on our list behind Bont, when you look at how valuable the likes of Grundy & Gawn are (which is the level I can see English reaching).
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

No way I would consider Venables or Petrucelle - neither have shown too much. The latter can run and Venables has a big body, but for English I'd consider it an insult.

                              LOL.

Let's all be calm. I didn't say we should do it, but the question 'what could west coast possibly offer...' was asked so I answered it. Their first round picks over the past two years are (I think) Venables and Brander - so that is who I suggested. English was a (late) first round pick in the same draft as Venables.

Like it or not, if English says he wants to go "HOME" (and remember, he IS NOT FROM PERTH so I cant see it), then an offer kind of like the ones I have outlined is what we should be pushing for.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Ryder has one year left at best. Injuries cutting him down and Port tend top play a tall ruck/forward.
Lycett is easily best 22 at Port (and the saints).
