Does a Wingard acquisition also make more sense as to why we let Dahl go?
I agree with your points here BTT - Wingard is a proven commodity and it looks as though we are unlikely to secure any of those top 5 talents so I too would be comfortable trading 7 for Wingard.

I think the supposed acquisition of Wingard would really help us in an area I am gravely concerned about - the youth and experience of the team. Looking at the players who are already out (Dahlhaus, Clay, Redpath, Likely Roughead, Biggs, maybe Adams and a few others) our list is likely to be even younger again next year. To that end, I really do think we need to entertain bringing in some quality, middle aged talent to support our development and Wingard could be a good fit for that.

I must add, if the $1mil per year price tag is true, i think i'd prefer to draft Rozee. $1mil is a lot to pay for a guy who can be inconsistent and goes missing when the chips are down. He's a great talent but $1mil is pushing it

$1m would put us in the hunt for Gaff or Shiel I'd imagine.

If we manage to sign the Bont up can we afford to have 3 $1million dollar footballers on our list?

God I hope this happens...why should Richmond just get him for free. Let them find 2 first rounders/players etc to make it happen, instead of just having lynch walk into their club.
I will never see #16 the same!!

This is where it is wrong. Richmond get a free agent for nothing and all the other clubs have to pay by dropping a place in the draft order.

Wingard at 7 is a much safer bet than Rozee who on his videos just seems to take tons of marks when errands ki is come back into the midfield. We want an attacker, a game changer, a goal kicker. Wingard is all of those.

And seriously with Kelly, it’s just all wishful whispering by anonymous bloggers.

Another from the knock me down with a feather files, but Hannebury's officially told the Swans he wants out, to the Saints ideally.

Couldn't have dreamed up a better pairing.

Saints have also offered 1.2-1.3mil a year for 6-7yrs for Shiel

Saints must be giving their first pick and more. As a rebuilding club, rebuilding from the very bottom, I'm not sure why they be parting with a lot for a player who won't be around by the time they next content seriously. I'm not sure I'd be doing that if I was them.

Do you smell that? Yep. It's desperation.

It’s not going to look good if they don’t land him!

Yep. If that happens then between them & North, well, as the saying goes, they couldn't organise a root in a brothel with $1M+ in their wallets with 6+ year terms.
