Brisbane getting involved in Port/Hawks deal it seems.

Lions touted as getting pick #35 as part of the deal.

Seems we'll send Adams to Lions for a pick around the 30s IMO.

Sam Mayes apparently heading to the Power

Wingard to Hawks. Brisbane still don't have the pick in the 20's Sam Power has demanded for Adams, with 9 hours to go.

What the hell did Brisbane get out of it? They downgraded from 5 to 6 and lost Sam Mayes for pick 35 and a future 3rd?

I think 35 is OK value for Mayes but they do seem to have given up a bit more than ideal

Wow, no wonder they're filled to the bursting.

It wasn't necessarily C.O.L.A. It's been a gradual reduction in their list size and salary cap concessions over the last few years to bring them into line with everyone else. Seems they've stuffed it up from the outside.

Going from other trades so far pick 35 and a future 3rd is way overs for Mayes, it was obviously to compensate for the 5 to 6 downgrade. Mayes alone would surely only be worth a pick in the 60s like everyone else.

I think that is exactly right. We have a deal in place and need to maximise it.

Power says it must be in the 20's. I'd be prepared for two lower picks if the points gain is substantial. If not, maybe stick to our word and not fold like a cheap suit.

I agree. Burton is a serious player. Mayes is a handy pick up in my opinion. And pick 5 over 6 could be the difference on draft day.

Yes. Brisbane have shown they are happy to move their pick 5 to 6.
Maybe now we move our 7 to 6 with them with 35 for Adams.

This moving of BNE’s pick 5 can’t be making Freo happy with the Neale / Hogan deal.
