Re: 2018 AFL -Trade Rumours and Discussion

I'd take May for 7 in a heartbeat. I fear Hogan, McDonald, J Kennedy, J Cameron, Riewoldt, Dixon and so on. With May I no longer worry about Gorilla forwards taking the piss out of us.

It's all going to be messy and I can't see Hogan reaching us enormous potential if he's at a place he clearly doesn't want to be.

Yep. Naughton eventually takes the number two Darling types. Cordy gets the third string medium/taller type forward. If we are seeing a trend back towards two good tall forwards and hybrid sort, those three with Young are a great group of talls going ahead.

But I desperately want a good running mid-forward-mid/forward with our pick 27 added. And media says they want Honeychurch. Martin would be ideal, but harder. Hall has nominated North. Scrimshaw might not be what we need. They might offer Nicholls their ruck, but we say no thanks. Dream big and then see if we can pull it off.

Freo believes Melbourne's demands were too high to be met.

Two first rounders is fair from the outside view. It's reasonable in the circumstances.

I'd definitely trade pick seven for May. Without a shadow of a doubt he would make our backline close to the best credentialed in the competition for tall, medium and small/running capability.

While I want to fix the midfield and the forward issues we have, we need to be realistic about what we can achieve this trade period and if we can put elite talent into any part of the team for the right price we should do it.
                TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I agree. I too would give pick 7 for May. He’s one player that if you saw line up on the bigs like Hawkins, Dixon etc, you’d at least know he’s going to make them earn every kick and more than likely break even.
I will never see #16 the same!!

And to see Jake Stringer shit himself when May looks in his direction

Scully to Hawks for a late pick according to the age.

May's not massive but he's very combative and he's a good mark and a beautiful kick. 6'4 guys who kick like he does is a rare commodity. He's not a Morris / Naughton backwards kick type he's very attacking.

In regards to May how many teams could fit him in salary wise and also have the assets to trade? I'm not sure there are many left.

I'm two thumbs up on May.

It beds down an area of the ground we're often exposed in, and if you'll permit me to channel my inner Darcy, I love the way he goes about it and reckon he'll help the kids walk a little taller.

And if you believe some of the comments, he has trouble meeting his fitness levels. Good to very good player player but I'd want to be sure he is committed to us and being a good footballer himself. I've had enough of the precious players who don't commit

I believe he is. It's a body type thing with him. He's very thick set. Listen to him talk. He's all about dedication, being a better player and working hard. There's no hint of laziness about him from all the interviews I've seen.

He was made captain for a reason.
