I guess it comes down to a few factors:
    1) Where will we finish next year? Around the same mark= bad deal. Lower= bad deal. Eight or higher=probably great deal
    2) What is the draft class like next year versus this year? Who do we get at 10/11 this year and how will that compare to someone we get in the (probabaly) 8-10 range next year.
    3) Will we have enough points for our father/son selections? There are a few coming through, will we need a first rounder?
We could acquire and then cash in with some later picks and have the points to cover West and Khamis

I meant for next year’s father/sons (and academy picks if there are any). Does losing a first rounder next year jeopardise these?

I think next year, looking at players coming out of contract there might be a couple/few trades. Those points might give us the extra points to cover the loss of it. We may even ask for later future picks back like we did with Crozier last year to help out a little.

i.e. Chad has told us he does not want to play for Carlton!

All this speculation of Wingard is potentially stopping us getting some other deals done.
He needs to make a decision.

Trade Radio this morning flagging Port want a decision from Chad before 5pm today. Agree - he needs to step forward, name us or the Hawks and lets get on with it. I do genuinely hope it is us, but if it isn't, I'd rather know now.

Given that we're linked to Duryea and Lloyd is this necessarily a bad thing?

Pick 7 is on the cards for Port. They will be keen to get an answer ASAP.

There’s a particularly excellent post that Trengove has put on instagrams that is well worth going to check out. Unfortunately it won’t let me post the screenshot (it always tells me that I have exceeded my quota even though I have deleted all attachments I have ever posted).

Edit: Beat me to the puck Axe Man. Worth reading through the comments too, even Jackson’s partner is trying to get him over the line!

Noted Chad's shrugged shoulders emoji in response (and Impey posting a bunch of Hawks in a comment)
