Port won’t have a choice BUT to accept it. Wingard won’t play for them again. It will be 15 and 35 and a player...and port will be bent over but accept it with lube.
I will never see #16 the same!!

We have some very talented players on our list, and we will grow and develop them.

I predict Hawks will barely make the 8 next year. Bookmark it now.

This part of Sam's article was interesting:

The Bulldogs were hoping to use their future first-round pick for Wingard but Port’s preference was to secure their first selection this year, No.7.

Or it's because they've won 4 of the last 11 flags and played finals 8 times in that period.

            Re: The Chad Thread

We need to follow the USAs lead and be able to trade to which ever club we want, not the players choice or the destination clubs will keep 'winning' trade week.
            The curse is dead.

It's nothing to do with that, it's to do with selling the club and things external to it. Clearly , as we've never landed anyone we have a very poor sales pitch.

Hopefully next time we win a flag, our guys don't fall to pieces thereafter.
The only way we change the attractability of our club is by winning, and presenting in all facets on and off field as a top flight organisation.
I'd argue that post flag there have been a number of areas on and off field that don't present us in the best light.

No. It's to do with what they can offer outside of football. They're miles from another flag.

As opposed to St Kilda and North who can't attract big names despite offering massive overs? By all accounts our offer to Wingard was not likely to be much more than he is currently on at Port.

                      Slowly reading it again.

The article says he has not determined to leave Port yet.
                      He's only 'leaning' towards Hawks.
                      There's 'no trade request'.
Based on The Hun 'understanding' from an unknown source or club (his manager jacking the price or Port putting on pressure to get our pick 7).
And Hawthorn only have 15 & 35, but dogs have 7.
Dogs had supreme confidence in landing him.

I freely admit the appearance looks like he's not coming to us. But there's actually not a lot of evidence in that one article to feel 100% in any direction to be honest.

The article has been edited to include this line:

The Herald Sun understands the Wingard camp called the Bulldogs today to inform them he would only play for the Hawks or Power next season.

So who have we attracted? We won a flag two years ago and can't attract anyone.
