You may all think Hawthorn is a destination club, but they missed on Lynch, Shiel and Gaff.

Hmm maybe but Gunston, Burgoyne, McEvoy, Mitchell, O'Meara , Impey, Wingard hard to argue they aren't doing something right.

However, it gets to a point when you can't just keep topping up from other clubs. Hawks have 9 players in the 30 plus age group - this is a massive problem for the future.

Perhaps, but it still flies directly in the face of our painful list pruning process, post-flag.

We might've taken the position Wingard's on-field input was worth his off-field BS, but again, what's that say to blokes who've lost mates for not towing the line? And what if good intentions failed to reform our top dollar new recruit on a squad full of impressionable kids trying to craft a professional culture of success?

It don't add up. Again, assuming the Wingard chat isn't hot air.

Is Wingard reputed to be a party boy and problem gambler?
            TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

It was always definitely curious Port were getting rid of a club favourite, cult hero and more importantly a local boy. And by all reports Chad doesn’t want to leave. It does have a bit of Stringer stink to it.

I can't believe Hawthorn offered up Burton. He is a quality young player. Shit they are desperate just to bring in a big name player.
They've done studies you know, 60% of the time, it works every time!

So, if Burton says no or for whatever other reason the Hawks and Port can’t get a deal up, could we still be in the mix?

Out of interest, who was the last player who nominated and then ended up at a different club? Has there been one?

That's true they need to hit the draft.

I've no idea but the vibe seems to be a lax off-field regimen which speaks directly to professional standards.

Precisely what we're trying to correct, whatever the causes or symptoms.

Why would we then expose a young group to that? While paying the blow-in a fortune in the process?

                              Again, just confused.

So what do we think about GC’s Jack Scrimshaw?
Looking to get back to Melbourne. Taken at pick 7 in 2016, he is a 193cm highly rated, rebounding defender. Apparently his agility, decision making and skills are exceptional and he will most likely be able to move into the midfield.

The kicker? Hawks are into him in a big way but apparently having a hard time finding any currency (made harder with the Wingard announcement). Let’s swoop in at the last second and get him. Seems a great prospect and it will piss them off AND it is likely the reason they are happy to part with Burton.
