I think they are just really well stocked for key defenders. Doedee is their number one and although undersized is a pretty good player. I haven't seen much of them but Murray and Butts are both young KPDs who have played the majority of the year and apparently have performed pretty well. They have just brought another young KPD in Worrell into the team the last in the last few weeks as well. Also goes some way to explain why McAsey can't get a look in.

Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022

      On SEN,

Carlton is at the front of the queue for Fremantle’s Blake Acres.

That is according to Western Australian journalist Kim Hagdorn who is reporting that the Blues have “jumped to the front of the race” for the Dockers wingman.

Acres, 26, is out of contract this year and is yet to re-sign with Freo as Victorian clubs circle.

Hagdorn says other clubs are offering the former Saint lengthier and more lucrative contracts than the Dockers which could lead to his exit.

“Blake Acres looks more likely to take a deal elsewhere,” Hagdorn said on SEN WA Drive.

“There’s several deals on offer, three and some of four years, for Blake Acres to leave Fremantle.

“He could well be going to Carlton. They’ve jumped to the front of the race for Blake Acres.”

Acres has been in superb form in 2022, enjoying arguably a career-best season on the wing.

It is also understood, as has been reported frequently in recent weeks, that Griffin Logue will depart Fremantle for a club in Melbourne.

Additionally, Rory Lobb, who has been heavily linked with the Western Bulldogs, is being tipped to depart as the Dockers prepare to make room in their salary cap for Melbourne’s Luke Jackson.

“Griffin Logue is almost absolutely certain to leave Fremantle because of the deals he’s getting offered out of Melbourne town,” Hagdorn added.

“Teams in Victoria are chasing Griffin Logue because of the season he’s had and the versatility he’s shown.

“He’s in the market and looking very likely to leave. Again, his offer from Fremantle is not enough for him to accept a big drop in pay.

“Time of the deal is a big thing relating to Griffin Logue and Blake Acres to leave Fremantle.

“We already know that Rory Lobb is leaving.”

The Dockers wrap up their home and away season against GWS in Canberra on Saturday before embarking on a first finals campaign since 2015.

Salary dump. I think this is a sign Jackson is pretty much signed.

Still a good chance of keeping Acres and Logue Id say - Lobb and others will be cleared to create cap space for Lobb

Can we just have all three? Wingman, defender and forward/ruck are all missing pieces (I'm just assuming Hunter leaves now btw)

I didn't mind Logue when we played them.

He has a hard edge and is quite versatile.

They are putting a lot of eggs in the Jackson basket.

The strong mail is Logue will go and from what I hear is that while he's a good spare parts player he hasn't really made a spot from himself in a best 22 for them.
Could they have some bad contracts in place that's a problem for them?

I don't get their all-in approach for Jackson as at the moment he is a 2nd ruckman and it's not a huge need for them. That might change if Darcy is likely to move.

It's strange re Logue. He's young, a top 10 draft pick and having his best season.

Freo logic : time to go.

Something seems wrong with the contracts. In most cases dropping a couple of mid tier players balances the books. I wonder if they back ended too many contracts.

On field they have been impressive.

Lloyd Meek surely would be on the move. 2nd behind Darcy currently and a Victorian.
