Tom Boyd got us a flag...

Bruce & Treloar both started at GWS too.

Tom cost our AA captain and first round pick. Hardly comparable to what's happening now.

Haven't seen such bombshell trade news since the Hawthorn-Collingwood straight swap of Paul Sharkey for Shannon Gibson.

                Glorious work Sedat

How long have you had that one locked and loaded, ready to sneak it in?

It wasn't a win/win or even a lose/lose. it was the ultimate neutral trade, except for the waste of fax paper.

I know it was certainly frustrating at the time but I really do think we have come out well ahead with these 2 clubs.

Any interest in Liam Stocker? He's struggled getting himself fit but he could add some depth.

Do we need someone his size in the backline or should we draft our own?

On the limited I've seen - and heard - he seems to play with genuine aggression. We could do with a hardened edge.

Considering we've found a spot for McComb I would think a player like Stocker has far more upside, but a lack of tank would be restricting.

I'm not sure, just throwing it out there to get opinions.

We can still draft our own while bringing in someone like Stocker. Carlton have tried him as a defender but it doesn't mean we have to and our mid sized and smaller defenders are more attacking types. Could Stocker be a more lock down option for us?
He's got talent and very good kicking skill and I think the issue for him has been more around getting fit enough and battling through a syndesmosis challenge.

Carlton have lost faith in him but I suspect some club will give him a go. At 22 his best football might still be in front of him.

Why would they delist him and keep Dow?

I suspect Dow is contracted? It just seems bizarre.

They invested so much into Stocker, and while he's been a slow developer, he's shown signs. Perhaps there's more to it.

I know that you get this but what they have invested in him doesn't matter now. He's essentially a top 20 pick that hasn't quite worked out for a club that has a very deep list. Being out of contract made his departure easier for them.
Some other club will try and make it look like a foolish delisting decision by Carlton and I wish that club well

FWIW, I think Carlton would listen to offers for Dow, spots are tight for them and if they have a better experience with injuries next season there might be a few decent players stuck in their 2nds.
