If we get SDK then I would be perfectly comfortable with thanking Jones for his service and turning him into the new Keath. Mind blowing that SDK was ever moved from the backline/out of their side somehow.
Bains from a top tier law firm (former head of legal at Toyota)
Power from a top tier law firm
Gordon the best class action lawyer in the land (successfully rep?s Gil too)
No doubt other high quality lawyers who?d consult for free
We?ve got the legal firepower without the costs to make this very ugly. Unless Geelong want to maybe do this quickly. If they want to make us make this ugly, that?s a choice on their part. Seems they?ve got a lot more to lose than us. A LOT.
There is also another Board member who heads up a law firm - Cornwalls - Levent Shevki - CEO/Partner Melbourne
There was also a rumour about a meeting last year attended by Smith and some Geelong people at Cottonons HQ, where lots was disgust.
I really hope we expose these pricks.

I think we should really take he gloves off. Don’t play this puck or that pick type normal negotiation. Give them one solitary chance to resolve this early with two firsts. Or go scorched earth on them and send BS to the PSD. No one else is going to stand up for the club or its interests so why not draw a line in the sand?

If SDK is involved, is it a straight swap? Do we want more back? Do they want more back? That would be an interesting negotiation.
If it's true I like that we're actually doing something about this. I doubt we bring down the Geelong Football Industrial Complex but if it's just a bit of a pain in their ass, if it makes it even a bit harder to pull the crap they pull, it'll be worth it.
Ultimately it may all be fire and fury signifying nothing
Yep, I?m all for us rattling their cage. They?ve been grifting the entire competition for decades.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.
Straight swap is pretty fair when you consider they weren’t picking him on purpose while fit.
That's where I land regardless of the fact he's not been picked. I think both clubs could mount arguments for why their player is more valuable, but they would sort of cancel each other out and it would end up a straight swap.
I also don't think SDK will move, and we will get two firsts.

Probably a straight swap I’d guess. They’d argue SDK is contracted, required and not coming off an ACL and as a KPP holds extra currency. I’d personally like some extra upgrade somewhere (swap 3rds) or a F3. I don’t see SDK being involved (or to be convinced it happens), but I’d still expect them to do it quickly or we go scorched earth. There’s no good will as far as I’m concerned.

Connors told Smith not to go to the Geelong prelim and is annoyed that Smith did anyway. Hurts negotiations. Bulldogs officially requesting the AFL look further into Smith's deal with Cotton on (which I'm sure won't get the Talia treatment)
My suspicions on Connors appear to be true - he likes to quietly and methodically get deals done off Broadway and always tries to keep a good relationship with all clubs. No surprise at all that Connors is pissed off with his idiot client - makes his already difficult job that much harder.

I believe that was the offer we put forth (according to rumours). Personally if we had to chuck in a later pick I wouldn't care since if I had to choose a player to have on the list it'd be SDK.
