I'm still relatively new to the forum so pardon me if this is a silly question, but do we have any posters on Woof with a link to inside knowledge regarding trade and list management stuff that share from time to time? Only asking because it's not often we see those kinds of posts, and it's mainly info from BF and other areas that is shared chinese whispers style.

Woof is a mysterious place you never know who you’re dealing with here but it seems to be pretty spot on with our own club.

The only piece of reliable news we've had is that it's confirmed Butters will be at the dogs next season or the year after. Came from a reliable source and backed up by other reliable sources on here.

Heard he had a decent chat with Adz and Bont last night at the AA awards too. Take with grain of salt tho.

I think over time WOOF has developed its own style where that type of speculation largely sticks to what's been reported.

The community here is relatively small and some members are well known to each other and previous posters on the site, and have links to people at or associated with the club who might check-in here from time to time. If members in the know start posting openly they may risk exposing themselves and sources.

There are people here definitely more connected to the club than Caroline Wilson, who hasn't driven across the West Gate Bridge since 1979

Yeah I understand it's a sensitive thing to have the knowledge whatsoever, so agree it's not fair to the poster or the club to spread it in a high risk forum. I also quite like the aspect of only reporting on fact (hence why I'm of the thinking that the butters joke has run its course also). It's just a shame that we don't receive the information on these forums, as it always leads to brilliant discussion and excitement, and everyone in here absolutely has the clubs best interest at heart which can't be said for some other forums.

Someone on here definitely had intimate knowledge about the Dunkley deal.

You could say it was the cause of his defection.

There are a number of people who probably know a bit more than the gen pop however as Jee said people who do have that info don't post it on forums as there is generally a relationship that would prevent that. Ergo you dont want to spill because you respect the source.

That's why you can take most things with a grain of salt.

The best you're ever going to get is GvGs training reports. That's unique content and we are extremely privileged to have access to it.

When people do share tidbits they also tend to sometimes cop a bit of flak and get dismissed by a handful of doubters. So not surprised we don't have loads of people volunteering what they know even if they do know something

It's a cycle. I think i've just hit the phase where i'm over it, but i'm sure i'll come around again in another week or so and find the humour in it.

Apologies if you were being sincere mate. There's been plenty of banter regarding a Butters trade for weeks on the forum now, started for fun to see how far it could be taken.

I'm not sure if you've been sucked into that vortex or you have actually received news, but it would be ironic if it was true and i'd apologise sincerely haha.

I've never understood that. If someone comes to post and has a reasonable posting history there should be no reason not to believe it. The footy world is not that huge, word can easily seep out into the public. The only ones i'm ever truly sceptical of are those truly outrageous would never happen type posts, and if there's no other person who's heard similar. Good info is usually backed by another source or two.

That was my assumption, but on the off chance it was true I didn't want to scare off a poster with legitimate information haha. Especially given i'd just written a whole series of posts regarding it!
