Not trying to be facetious but I believe telling gay people they will burn in hell = expressing love for certain (fundamentalist?) religious people. Like a warning from a place of love.

I find this all abhorrent of course.

I think you would be surprised by how many current AFL players, coaches, officials hold that view, in line with their religious beliefs (which I personally do not share).

Clearly had an outstanding season winning the Liston and the coaches award.

I don't know a lot about him.

He turns 28 in January, 180cm midfielder. He's probably left his run too late for an AFL career.

Yep. It's basically acceptable in Australia. Just try to not say what you actually mean publicly too much as the views sound/are horrendous when said aloud.
