Re: Talking trades
They tried this same thing last year with Caddy. What has he done that could possibly justify 2 first round picks? If he weren't drafted in the first round originally I doubt clubs would even give GC 1 first round pick for him.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Re: Talking trades
I think Essendon will improve next year regardless but I am not sure they have done the right thing with Goddard. He is simply not worth the rumoured contract he was offered. I have never thought he was even close to being as good as what some do. He is a good player with good skills but not elite in any position.
Any team that adds him is going to be better for it initially but it will impact their list managment down the track especially after paying overs for Hurley. Credit for being aggressive but at what cost?Although it broke our hearts it did not break our willComment

Re: Talking trades
Think Goddard will be good for essendon and expect them to make it close to top 4 next season.. I do hope to see them get knocked out of teh 1st round of finals 2 years running them drop out of the top 8That would be bitter sweet
I do think they have potential (as do Carlton) to make top 4 though and can be dangerous.. Dont know who I hate more. I do rate Watson though and is the only player at teh bombers I like

Re: Talking trades
Have they forgotten the ridiculous first round pick they were assigned when Campbell Brown left?
Similar to Brown, it is questionable whether they wanted to sign Young or receive compensation.
Glad they got nothing for Tom Murphy alsoComment

Re: Talking trades
Although if you compare it to the Ward compensation they got a good deal, if you compare it to Scully and Brown they were ripped. It's better to die on our feet than live on our knees.Comment

Re: Talking trades
Trade Period over yet? 3 weeks is just ridiculous.
Talk that Tippett might head to the Draft, surely Adelaide are going to have to settle for that poor deal of Jesse White & Pick 22? It's not very lucrative, but can't see them letting him go for nothing.Comment

Re: Talking trades
Either give us what he's worth or he goes in the draft, they are going to have to trade out someone decent to get Tippett(which is fair enough).
They don't want White which is understandable. The curse is dead.Comment

Re: Talking trades
I would say stuff you Sydney, Adelaide has been screwed over a lot in the last couple of seasons.
Either give us what he's worth or he goes in the draft, they are going to have to trade out someone decent to get Tippett(which is fair enough).
They don't want White which is understandable.
Considering Gold Coast have ruled themselves out. GWS have there own tall forwards they are developing.
Yes they have been royally screwed the past 2 years, but it just seems silly not to take the pick 22 when he will end up at Sydney for nothing regardless.Comment

Re: Talking trades
Considering he's reported to have signed on for one year, then our two year offering could already be considered a "big deal" for him, irrespective of the cash that may have been put on the table.
If he's decided to put the longevity of his career behind the opportunity for continuity in management and possible loyalty then good on him. With FA and other stories about players holding out on their clubs it's refreshing to see players showing a little loyalty to clubs that have bred them and allocated significant resources towards them.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment
