They've proved their idiocy many times. Can somebody pass me some popcorn please? This is going to be fun.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

It's going to be pathetic, and Crameri is going to be dragged into it no matter how much he sings out against it.

At the end of the day, one of the AFL's biggest assets is at risk right now, and there is no way in hell they will be put to the wall to the extent that they should be. If Hird is the club - which he seemingly is - you can be sure there's going to be a lot of protection for him when it starts to get dirty even though the administration knows he doesn't deserve it.

If the AFL was as strong as it claims to be on this issue, it would have put sufficient effort into ensuring Hird wasn't an ongoing concern for the EFC and the AFL. They would also have penalised the EFC by limiting their Friday night exposure, blockbuster exposure and so on and so forth. But they haven't done that.

Twodogs - I hope it's a big bucket of popcorn you have in your hands. This circus is going to need at least three or four intermissions.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

It's a jumbo size popcorn bucket type of situation all right. To paraphrase Churchill: it's not even the end of the beginning.

I think it is a dead give away that Essendon has never tried to challenge the charges on the simple grounds that the allegations are not true. All they have tried to do is have the process thrown out, thereby escaping on a technicality.

I am sure they would have had more sympathy if they had fought on the grounds of "we didn't do it". Of course I have also thought that the so called lack of record keeping might be less of incompetence and more about convenience.

What I find amazing is that it seems Danks has all the records, what work place lets one person keep all the personal employees records at home?
Especially records that are supposed to be kept in case the AFL do an audit.
Why were the injections done across the road ?
It all seems to be a cover up that suggests they knew it was wrong.

Of course they knew it was wrong. The records were probably driven over to Dank's house the night before they "self-reported".

I keep hearing that the players concerned will not be following the the NRL lead. Their advice is to challenge the circumstantial evidence that ASADA have. Interesting that no deals have been done at all.

Looks like there is a lot more to play out

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players

This is a very bad sign for the Kool-Aid drinkers who are still blindly following the Hird/Essendon mantra. WADA was clearly unimpressed with the token Cronulla player sanctions (for a much less sophisticated and far shorter doping regime) and will no doubt be expecting ASADA to wave a much heavier stick with regard to 34 current and former Essendon players, especially if they don't cooperate with the investigation. I would expect that 12 month bans will be the bare minimum that the players end up serving - it is quite amusing to see talk of potential 4 week bans in the media.

The player bans will only be the start of the hurt to Essendon. There will be a conga-line of players and greedy player agents suing the club for loss of earnings, then I'd expect to see Work Cover picking over the EFC carcass to investigate poor workplace safety procedures.

                      Agree Sedat.

Also I hope legal counsel Starr is doing the right thing by Crameri & Prismall i.e. looking into possible early plea, especially in light of other article in The Age regarding ASADA to lead investigation http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-new...28-11d8yy.html. You'd think his reputation is such that he'd look at all avenues available & discuss with his clients.

I've loved what Cramers has bought to our team and would be horrid to lose him for any longer than is necessary.

One of the issues is ASADA only has circumstantial evidence which is what Essendon are banking on.

Sooner or later the players are going to say enough is enough and lets end this. As josie says, hopefully Rob Starry gets our man off with a small penalty.

Newspaper articles aren't worth anything nowadays once they write an opinion, 99% of the time they are completely wrong and written from writers with no idea on a subject just a thought that hits their brain with no fact or real investigation or expertise.
We just need factual articles to believe anything.
Australian press has gone downhill extremely quickly.

Three more delistings at Essendon. You would have to think that you would be a little disgruntled having gone through the nightmare of the last few seasons (not breaking ranks and "standing by" the club), potentially staring down the barrel of a lengthy ban, only to be delisted and knowing that the likelihood of getting interest from another club is very, very low.

It would be bad enough for the blokes getting a regular game or at least considered "required" players but you can add potentially ending these players careers here (due to the risk involved for other clubs).

Do you think we will get a bit of backlash now of a few players who now have nothing to lose?

I think so, especially those that feel they have nothing to lose and may want a bit of a payback.
