Interesting quarter.

The Hawks are sending their half forwards up to the contest and we're pretty content to sit off - we've had two spare behind the ball for a lot of that quarter.

On those slow plays, we're pretty much playing man on man and they've struggled to move the footy from deep.

JOD is playing as the deepest defender in the Jones role with Lobb going with whichever tall is up the ground.

I think English has been good. Looks like they've told him to get on his bike and stretch their ruck. His aerial work has been really strong and he's pushed hard back and forward.

Libba's contested stuff is awesome but he needs to make sure it gets to a teammates hands. Really like Sander's game as well.

Considering our outs (Dale, Richards, Bont, Treloar in particular) our ball movement has been really nice.

Very happy with our game style , changed a bit from the last few years , we seem to be more sure of what we do with the ball.
I am worried about how the hawks backs are taking so many mark.
Bont out but he is okay and I’m okay with him watching on . Lobb has carried on from last year , Freijah is only going to get better. Only the 1st qtr do let’s see how it pans out.

Forward entries pretty poor, I know we play a forward half possession dominant game but 24 pts from 21 inside 50s isn’t good enough. Obviously only preseason but it’s not like it’s a new issue.

we like deep entries but we just need to be drawing defenders out of the hot spot and finding space in the 30-50m range. We’re the most predictable team in the comp entering inside 50 it must be so easy to defend. You just KNOW it’s going to the top of the square, needs to be some kind of unpredictability to our game

Croft is playing wing like a man begging to go to full forward. I think they're only using him there as a rotation, but I can't see this experiment lasting.
