He was probably rooted by the end, that was a poor contest for sure.
All in all I rated his game today.
I wish we had Jackson though. Man what a brawler.
I'm not. Just saying he should have been better. If the roles were reversed and Tim went down, Jackson would have dominated and took the game apart.

Jackson is better for sure. Superstar.

Tim’s been bloody awesome again, flicked a switch these last two weeks. Hasn’t gotten back to his dominate around the ground play but his endeavour and fight in the middle is exactly what I’ve been crying out for, keep this up and build on it and the around the ground stuff will come again

this has to be the baseline going forward for him

Also for the people that say rucks don’t matter, how much better does our midfield look and perform with the dominant ruckman on the ground, even when our midfield is outclassed on paper by the lions

His hands seemed a bit surer this week, and he put himself in good positions. One or two critical errors, one or two efforts that were under what we'd expect, but overall thought he played well.

Easily the best ruck around the ground. He got worked over a bit around the contest and didn't get enough help from Darcy or Naughton (I didn't expect him to win the hit outs but at a team level it's 34-53 their way, with Tim getting 32) - and I'm sure there are reasons for how and why we shared the duties how we did but perhaps Naughton could have had more time in there in the second half.
            TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Call it as it is. English was good for 2 and bit quarters. A bit unsighted in the last. Pushed around by Mcinerney and beaten in contests by smaller types when the pressure is on. It’s nothing unusual.

English took some really strong contested marks in defence but fluffed a few skill errors which lead to Brisbane goals.

I really hope he can continue to work himself into the season.

Contineus to build slowly, and is yet to be the sole reason we won, or lost a game.
I am trying to understand some of the genius justifications above.

He's getting a bit better but he's hardly influencing games like we would hope for.
Thank god we didn't offer him some of the financial figures being bandied around last year.

I often wonder how much of that was his manager planting fabricated updates to the commentariat.

Everyone's seen his flaws over time, just as much as they've seen his strengths.

Watching Port play Hawks. Sweet doing well at rucking & around ground 1%ers. I like Tim however if I could swap him for Sweet right now I’d say yes.

Depends what you want from a ruckman. He has 7 disposals, of which 5 are HB, and no marks

IMO he has been pretty influential, despite the low disposals.

It’s rare that 1 player is the reason you win or lose. If you want justification of lack of influence, rewatch any of 6 finals loses. That lack of influence is continuing this season.
