Re: WB Game Day V Port Adelaide R23 2021

Honestly I’m embarrassed by our supporters sometimes. We got slaughtered for contested ball all night until the last qtr and we fumbled all night but every time we lose supporters jump all over the coach. It’s like it gives our supporters comfort to convince themselves we have an amazing list and it’s all the coaches fault.

Here’s some things that we can fix immediately without coach input

Our shape away from the contest has vanished because we are fumbling and going to ground. We actually played our best qtr in the last when you look at statistics but gave up easy looks by fumbling and second guessing our shape away from contest.

Naughton has been ordinary since the West Coast game and gave up possession too easily when he had it. He is trying to engage his opponent too early. Maybe he isn’t that good right now? Is that the coaches fault because this is a pattern now not a one off.

English pulled out of nearly half a dozen contests.

Macrae is probably my favourite player but he actually felt the pressure tonight and fumbled repeatedly. It is getting in his head and he is going to ground trying to cover it.

Smith not taking first option at least 5 times and some basic skill errors.

    Libba 1 handed effort.

Bont worked his arse off but 15 touches and some poor disposals. In a close game that’s really costly.

Weightman going to ground in crucial contests.

I could go on all night. Of course players will make mistakes but we had the game on our terms for the last quarter and a bit and when it came to it Port simply wanted it more and played smarter.

Everyone’s having a vent… life is really shit for lots of us right now and the Bulldogs is the one thing to a sense of normal life. It’s hard watching what look like a sensational season be flushed down the toilet in the space of 12 days.

      Shattering actually.

Yeah, what’s with anyone criticising others on how they post in here? If you want to cheerlead and find positives, do it. If you want to criticise, do it. Fancy policing how people post on here after that loss (on top of everything else).

The writing was on the wall during the NM game. A few wins since against poor opposition has been nothing but band aids.

18-51 hit outs, lose by two points. English got two goals. We were more efficient than them going forward. But did it work? I just don’t know how we finish like this … our best footy was with two rucks at the start of the year. Is Sweet that bad?

                    Bitterly disappointing.

The players are good enough, talent carries us. The same issues at selection and in the coaches box kill us, with rote, repetitious, reliability.

The equation is simple for me now. Win a final, or sack the coach and stop wasting time.

Re: WB Game Day V Port Adelaide R23 2021

I don't think sacking the coach and tearing the place apart is going to do us any good. Getting a ruck and key defender will do plenty for us though.

We needed cooler heads with the footy in close. The amount of hard touches and rocket handballs that lacked any sort of finesse was really telling tonight. What was a strength became a weakness.

The team clearly looks fatigued, and losing Bruce has thrown us well out of whack forward of the middle.
                      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

A bear walks into a bar and says... Can I have a whiskey............

                        And Coke.

Why the big pause asked the bartender?

Not sure, I was born with them.

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Good post. Wondering if both English and Naughton’s concussions have played a part in their tentative approach since their return.

Really looks to me like the injuries have caught up with us.

Treloar and Dunks have in no way come back the way we expected and the other mids who needed their spark to help lift them look spent.
