Egan is the one I know least about, aside from him being a very good player with a horrible foot injury ruining his career.

In any case, there's absolutely zero excuses for the club in 2024. That should be the slogan. No excuses.
I agree, he has a real interest in leadership values as well.
Saint supporters really rated him as well.

Yep. No excuses is the perfect motto
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I read this as Geary promising to ride their flaky asses each and every week and it's music to my ears.

I have to give it to Chris Grant, we've replaced some good footy folk with some good footy folk and have really brought in some specific skill sets that focuses on improvement and development. I agree with Rocket Science, Geary is likely to set a high benchmark for the players to reach.

Not a bad option if we hired Stephen Dank and The Weapon as part of our revamped F&C staff.

Then again sequels are always worse than the original (and the original was already plenty shithouse in this case).

As Stevo pointed out, at the moment we have covered the departures.

Egan for Webb but with a bigger focus on Chris Maples 2022 role
                      Pratt for Smith
                      Johnson for Martin
                      Geary for Varcoe

I'm not sure adding a goal kicking coach means we have beefed up the coaching ranks like we said we would so I suspect there could be another appointment.

The Matt Innes replacement was always likely to take some time.

The Egan for Webb change is interesting. So we have replaced a Stoppages and Opposition Analysis coach for a Coaching and Performance Manager. I would have thought it was an important role to cover so hopefully we have someone coming in for that.

I get the impression that role was created because Lade was recruited and best suited to the midfield line. Lade probably takes over stoppages and maybe Egan's responsibilities include opposition analysis.

                          I think that's a reasonable assumption.

I remember Bevo saying at the B & F that he was hoping our strength and conditioning coach....whoever that is...would apply for Innes job.

                                Bulldogs appoint key off-field roles

The Western Bulldogs? AFL Football Department has been further bolstered through the recruitment of two roles in the key areas of high-performance and medical this week.

Daniel Duvnjak-Zaknich has been appointed as Head of Physical Performance, while Dr Anthony Hispley joins as the Bulldogs? Chief Medical Officer.

Duvnjak-Zaknich arrives at the Kennel with 14 years of experience in elite sport, spending nine seasons at the Fremantle Dockers as Head of Strength and Conditioning before moving to the GWS Giants as Senior Physical Performance Coach.

Prior to his stints in the AFL system, Duvnjak-Zaknich was a Head Lecturer at Exercise Research Australia.

Dr Hipsley is no stranger to the AFL competition either, having recently worked as the Melbourne-based match-day doctor for both the Brisbane Lions and Fremantle Dockers.

Concurrently, Hispley has worked as the Senior Sports Doctor at Western United in the A-League competition, while also consulting from a sports medicine clinic in Geelong.

Bulldogs? Executive Director of Football Chris Grant was delighted to appoint two high-quality individuals into vital roles within the football department.

?We are thrilled that both Daniel and Anthony have seized the opportunity to work at the Bulldogs, leading the critical areas of high performance and medical within our football department,? Grant said.

?Daniel brings a wealth of professional sport experience and will head up our strength and conditioning and high-performance areas, working closely with Head of Sports Medicine, Chris Bell, to prepare our AFL players for the demands of the modern game.

?As Chief Medical Officer, Anthony will work closely with the experienced Dr Gary Zimmerman, supporting our players with sports medicine, GP and mental health expertise.

?We look forward to welcoming both Daniel, Anthony and their families to the Bulldogs in coming weeks.?
