I give him leniency as coming back up to the level isn't easy, especially after being all over the media as out the door already because he's being superseded by a third year player (who's a clear freak of nature). But he contributed when we needed him to and had two posters that could have gone the other way and really gotten his night going.
You’re very kind. I’m sure you posted the same for Rhylee West in his thread.

You and I were almost lone rangers in the do the trade it’s a good thing at the time. I wanted and want this to work. But it hasn’t and won’t. He missed a sitter for a poster and arguably could’ve tried to hit up Marra for the other poster. While being pretty much irrelevant around those scores.

Rhylee is my new whipping boy now Hunter has gone and Rhylee West Bingo is almost as fascinating as Lachie Hunter Bingo was. But, he got closer and closer to an opportunity through persistence and ended up nailing an important one and I think turned a poor showing into a passable one in the end, so good on him.

The way our talls in the forward line have been interacting has been problematic, and just as it looked like it was starting to settle we've lost Naughton and with Lobb coming in things got a bit wild again in the first hour or so of the game.

His first miss was terrible, he possibly could have hit up JUH but was also within his rights to have a shot. A bit like West he hung in there and took his moment when he needed to.

As for the decision to recruit him Adam Treloar gave a really good summation of him after the game on ABC radio, saying he works hard and is better than any second ruck in the competition which is a big deal to us. If English goes down we've got a guy who in Naughton's absence can carry the ruck load instead of spreading it across makeshift options. Bobbing up for a goal or two is a bit of a bonus.

Hopefully he improves next week now he's blown the cobwebs out.
      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I admire your glass half full view with him. I think he’s fast running out of excuses for why he doesn’t particularly impact at AFEL level. Which is frustrating as he’s got some tools, but like Schache to an extent, just doesn’t do enough. Lobb never kicked four in a quarter for us…

          I don't get the angst.

He's pretty good. He doesn't have moments like JUH, or Naughtons ferocity, or Darcy's freakishness, but he is a pretty solid tall forward that always contributes, is pretty handy in the ruck and is a long way from a liability even when it isn't clicking.

Would've thought after our decades of trying to find the silver lining in blokes like Nathan Saunders we'd appreciate a 3rd/4th choice tall forward who isn't complete dog shit.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

Saved a shot on goal with a defensive smother last night as well.

I was actually pleased with his forward craft. He is the only one of our talls, including English, who will hold his opponent away from a contest to allow the others a better chance at a mark.

Lobb was okay last night. I get the feeling that if he puts in average game it's not going to please a lot of our supporters.

It’s not “fair” but I just don’t like him and can’t warm to him. It’s the downside to a club relying on supporters having parasocial relationships with the players.

He’s fine at footy and I think his ruckwork has always been underrated but the vibes are simply too off.

He was pretty good agree. Now we play Naughton back and he stays.

                  We score without Naughton forward.

Imagine we get so efficient over the next five weeks that playing Naughton back so as not to upset the forward chemistry becomes a thing.

We need someone to cover Jones rolling the dice and causing me hair loss.
He's great at it LJ, just freaks me out! I thought JOD was really reliable last night.

Lobb just needs to play decoy and he'll be added value. Although next week without Darcy he'll have to provide more.

Actually, 'Rory Lobb; Hey at least I'm not complete dog shit' might be the most perfect encapsulation of his career.

Watched the replay this morning and he had some very impactful moments in the last qtr. Didn't shoot the lights out but played a role.

Agree. He was serviceable. Next week will be a big test for him & Marra, not only with Darcy out but West and VDM as well.
