He ran and won a good beep test the other week. If he can stay concussion free he is an ideal spare parts player and sub candidate

Coffield ahead of JOD us a slight surprise. I was having a close look at Freijah the other day and he looks to be nearly KP height and build. At a pinch I think he play tall.
Happy to see Garcia and West in the best 22 as well and Sanders probably needs to be rewarded as well. Libba has to play if fit?
Gallagher has some work to do to get into the line-up. Harmes might get into the mix as well.
Yeah you could swap them and start Coffield on the bench instead but it's whatever I guess. With Freijah, I am assuming he plays back but I guess we wait and see where he trains? Maybe he takes the wing spot...

One small point on Scott - near the end of a training session last week, he spent a deal of time with one of the line coaches practising his field kicking. The focus was on maintaining rhythm and power continuously through his kicking action. And in the main, he had success. He was kicking lower and harder, much like Ed Richards. Hopefully, his improvement continues and withstands match pressure.

In terms of best line up, I just want to see selection being consistent throughout the year. If you’re out of form, drop to the twos, rule applies for everyone. 1-3 year player will always play a bad game here and there so patience must be applied.
I actually really liked what Harmes did mid year before his injury, he started hitting the scoreboard and surprisingly during that 3 game run was one of our cleanest players. I agree it will be a challenge to get in the side but I see him well ahead of players like Baker and Poulter, I still hold out hope he can impact.

I guess I was annoyed by his finals game but prob more so with Bevo not using him to lock down one of the Hawks mids. Should’ve just ran with Newcombe and put him off his game or something. I don’t know, I still need closure from last season.

Harmes will give us MAXIMUM three good games next year, out of the 10 or so he is fit for. He is and always was a crap trade.

I like Scott but he's a massive risk to take in to an AFL game with his concussion history. Did he get subbed out of both matches this year with concussion? He is a really good 'gap-filler' in our side, and I'd love for him to play 26 injury free games this season - but I fear his head will let him down.

I was thinking about this the other day, if the present protocols were in place, how many great players would've been retired early?!

How is Gallagher looking? They invested a lot of resources and game time into him in 2024, feel like that has to pay off for our wing and half-forward play to reach a preliminary final level team in 2025.
Who do you guys see as the wing and half-forward types in the best 25 players, this is the area that has to improve.

Gallagher is still recovering from post season surgery. Hopefully he will be right after Xmas. Williams occupies one wing, perhaps Freijah on the other. West and Vandermmeer the smaller forwards.

I think Richard’s is one that is really suited to that high half forward role that’s if he doesn’t get the start in the middle. And I also hope Poulter is given a better crack this year on the other wing to Williams I think he should be ahead the likes of Baker and McNeil.

Really like the look of Gallagher as well will be interesting to see where he’s positioned next season.

Why do you think this? Happy enough you do, just trying to understand...I've seen a bit of support for Poulter and I feel I must be missing something.

To me he doesn't play the wing - he plays in the first row of the stands and he is a real 'ball stopper' when we are in possession...basically, I think he's a nice backup.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

He’s 22 I feel he has a fair bit of upside and at his height offers abit both ways.
The only negative I see people say is him playing too wide I don’t see it and even if that is a big issue surely that’s something that’s easily fixed.
And if you go back to the end of the year when he was in the side for that period that was probably the most balanced i feel we looked.
Don’t think he should have been dropped after that Adelaide loss it seemed like after that anyone was just thrown out there.

Poulter should've been trashed at the end of the season.

I don't see it in him at all just doesn't have the footy IQ.

Yeah Poulter looks alright at times but when he doesn't... he really doesn't
