OK I feel/am indulgent when I do these. I'm extending on the last one.
KPDs
L Jones and Lobb are the locks. I'd go with Buss as the 3rd tall.
The thing with Buss here is I want our 3rd tall to 'be something'. I feel Buku and JOD are kind of tall/mobile hybrids. Their type is 3rd tall but I don't think they actually add enough value when needed. Too small/too immobile. If Buss' confidence is up to it, I think he could add value as an interceptor at AFL level. Alternatively, I wouldn't mind going a bit smaller if the player offers rebound. Last season, Buku and JOD were like allrounders who are meh with bat and ball.
Small defenders
Dale, JJ, Doc, Bramble. Freijah can play HBF or wing.
CBA guys
I'll do the 300% TOG game with CBA guys.
Bont 60%? down a bit, slightly more time forward
Libba 75%. I think if he isn't playing vast majority of time as an inside mid, he is probably out of the side
Adz- 70% maybe a bit of time in outside role/s but again, vast majority inside mid unless things change drastically
Ed- 60%. Thought his move to inside mid was a major catalyst for our form improving. Can start out of the CBAs and offer a bit outside but if I'm the opp, I'd love Ed not getting to CBAs.
That leaves about 25% for the others. Could reduce a bit of CBA time for the four but at most, we get 5 players who have it as a larger part of their match day role.
So we are up to 12.
Wings
Mentioned Freijah playing HBF and/or wing. We have Truck too. Will add more about wing later. Plenty of guys that suit CBA time but perhaps the opposite with wing rotations.
Rucks
English and Darcy. I'd like to see a bit more of a ruck time share but let's see.
KPFs
Naughts and Marra, obviously with Darcy/English. Wary of us not robbing ourselves of the best version of Sam Darcy to do more than support English in the ruck.
Smaller Forwards
Already mentioned mids going through here but more permanent guys being Cody, West and McNeil. Cody and/or McNeil can rotate on wing. I agree with mjp that Cody can do a whole lot of nothing for too long forward. I think Kennedy is definitely in the side. See him spending the majority of his time a defensive forward but like a lot of our guys, suited to CBAs.
That's one spot plus the sub. More of an exercise of distribution/balance of roles than specific names as players will miss games but roles that need filling most are wing and half forward rotations. Very limited CBA time, pretty good with small defenders with Truck as an in game back up too.
It's very Bevo and his new toys but perhaps Davidson is the best fit. I appreciate Vanders plays a role and think I am normally a defender of his but would like to see if someone has a higher ceiling perhaps.
Maybe a Scott type as sub with his versatility and being mature? Garcia or Sanders can also be used to come in fresh and get CBAs but I feel that's not something Bevo would do.
If Sanders and/or Garcia miss, they will destroy it at VFL level and there will be lots of noise from fans, as there has been. Thing is, where do we play them? And if it's inside mid, who do we move from there?
