You also have to consider most journalists don't have a seething pathological desire to deride Eagleton at every opportunity and tend to at least try to hold a balanced view.
How did you work that out?

Was eyeballing, although checking the stats we seemed to have done ok (well, Hudson anyway).

        Haha what a joke
If I was Eagleton I would be mightily pissed off.

There was no way in the world that he had a worse game that Minson who was horrible to say the least. Yeah he had 26 hit-outs, but only 19% were to advantage and had only 7 possesions. Hudson had double the amount of possessions and 42% of his 19 hit-outs went to our advantage.

        Go figure.

Minson in the bests almost looks like a prank.

I though his two dropped marks set the tone for the rest of the game. In a side desperately seeking a marking target, to get to the right position then miss the marks is almost criminal.

Even though the journo's don't have the desire to deride our players they really don't have much of a clue if they are including 'Big Will' in our bests do they?

His efforts in these marking contests was piss poor, especially the one where he had front on contact, but didn't attack the ball with the effort required. If he did he would have gotten a certain free kick, but instead the ball went straight down the otehr end for a goal.

Gotten completely off track, Eagleton sucks.

One or two players can't be blamed for the abysmal performance. It really was a team effort..

Just on Will, I think he is in 2 minds. Early on in the season, I think the instructions were just to make a contest and bring the ball to ground. Now he is being used as key target up forward, he still has that in hin mind, rather than actually trying to mark the ball.

                    Agree.

Against the poor teams we just need him to compete as our mids/ smalls can have a field day as our midfield can deliver 'clean' ball. When we play the good teams we need Will to be our tall forward as the clean supply dries up and we are forced to kick it in long and direct.

Part of that would have been the Saints defence being very good at splitting opposition forwards up - hard to crumb when you're 15m away from the fall of the ball after a spoil. They are 19 points more miserly than any other defence in the comp.

Makes me sick that he gets a game every week. Has down absolutely hopeless at least 5 weeks in a row.
