As bad as Eagleton was or had been yesterday there was a specific piece of play in the last qtr that buried him for me.
Eagleton received the ball at CHB for us with an opponent some 5 metres behind. He had clear space in front of him and we really needed him to carry the ball for us. Eagleton chose to kick the ball to a leading opponent across half forward and his kick missed the target. To me it looked like Eagleton had no confidence in his ability to be able to out run the Eagles player on his tail.
In the past Eagleton would have been able to provide the run and carry we needed, he couldn't do it yesterday when we required and as he will be required to do in subsequent games. (if he is there)
Surely his days are numbered, surely.
