they have lost Lake, Hale and Suckling, so imagine they have room. Lots in vets class as well. 5 players over 30 and 7 players over 27

Rather than waiting for saints to call we should be proactive and instigate conversations with the Saints & Bombers.

It's not as easy as that. There are still plenty of player who are pain under their market value at the Hawks.
I think if the Saints are prepared to pay Carlisle 700K then the Hawks might be somewhere around or just under 600K

None of them would have been on big money. Hodge, Mitchell, Lewis and Roughy the only veterans I believe - which equates to about $500k outside the cap. Some impressive accounting going on out at Waverley.

Richmond had that years ago and pissed most of those picks up the wall. Not a guarantee in a shallowish draft

Jake Carlisle is happy to play for Hawthorn if the Saints can't do the deal

A bit more to play out then.

I reckon I could work out a 4 club deal that trumps the Hawks offer

Can't believe North giving pick 15 for Anderson.

There is a few things with this:
                      - They're trying to fast track an improvement in their list because they believe they are genuine contenders
                      - They don't rate the draft from that position.
                      - They might think they will get a generous offer for Aaron Black

North definitely seem to be on the wrong side of the ledger out of this trade.

As always, Hawthorn looking like grabbing the name player on the market.

Our last two guys around that pick number were Clay Smith and Howard from memory. No guarantees with those picks. It looks like North is paying overs in the surface but Anderson has his admirers too.

Carlisle not doing a lot to dispel the appearance of being a mercenary flake.

I'm sure wherever he lands can treat themselves to a couple of blinders a year from him against crap opposition, which might just help alleviate some of their ire at his twenty other undependable showings.

The pressure on him to perform - regularly - ain't exactly gonna ease after he inks a healthy deal.

I just glad Dangerfield didn't nominate Hawthorn, and that the deal got done early to stop them seizing an opportunity!
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

They are probably still trying to figure out a way into that deal that lands them Aush for a third rounder.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
