Bonar & Stephenson, Richards on the table and we go KPD? Is Naughton so much better to ignore them?

Swapping Higgins for Murphy is an interesting debate.

Houlahan certainly fits the bill as a strong player in the air.

Is Ballard or Bailey (or both) the other SA player you’re referring to? Both have some attributes which appeal.

I like that CT has Daniels in his top 25. He can play and despite his height, has the attributes to make a serious crack at it.

What are peoples thoughts on Higgings? He looks to have more talent than Andrew Hopper thats for sure but will his speed hold him back at AFL level?

I'd still hope we are looking at Murphy. Reports this week say we've interviewed both boys, but there's something about Murphy that tends me towards him as it seem consensus L. Fogarty will head to Brisbane also. I saw something this week that said Murphy may well go higher. It's going to be a really interesting draft.

Absolutely agree his speed, agility and neat kick will take him along way at AFL level for mine he becomes a best 22 player for sure.

More Ballard as an (very) outside chance but Bailey as well. Houlahan is an exciting type, I think he is a top 25 chance

                    Whats wrong with Naughton?

If Dal sees him as best available then thats all that matters isnt it?

3 years in the system and he'll take over from Trengove.

Very competitive big man, whose got great hands - and is quick - not a great kick at this stage, but Rance couldnt hit the side of a barn when he began

I mentioned Ballard the other day as well because if you project forward he has those qualities that will appeal.

He's got some Zac Clarke type abilities in being able to play on a wing or in time as as a key forward or defender.
Reasonably good kick and a strong mark. Needs to add some weight and strength

Outside of his awkward kicking style he's a good player.

Daniel Cherny on Realfooty has dropped his take:

FWIW he has us taking Naughton at 9 and Lochie O'Brien at 16.

My favourite part of Sam Landsberger's mock was Gold Coast's first pick - I can't remember the players name and can't get back through the firewall, but it was something like
"a lightly framed outside midfielder, who most regard as a much later selection, but is favoured by Scott Clayton in what could be his last draft with the Suns".

It doesn't get any more Scott Clayton than a flyer on a lightly framed outside player in the first round.
