Im not sold on Raak, although his uncle was an absolute gun at local level (Melton which was a high standard).

They weren't shy of a contest put it that way. He was a big ff.

We won't know until Thursday night who we might be able to land at the Kennel after we match the bid for Darcy but I think we can do very well out of our late order selections.

I'd like to land someone like Paul Curtis or Hugh Stagg but getting some other players with a bit more experience like Dean, Schlensog or even Mitch Cox would be welcome additions.

Picking late this year won't be that much of a problem.

We seem to have been linked to small forward/utility types going by who we've interviewed.
Late mail from ITK types is that the order this year is less settled than other years - and Cal Twomey's mail isn't very strong outside of the Vic clubs.

I expect our 'handshake deal' with Geelong for pick 23 gets activated as soon as GWS bid on Darcy at pick 2, and once other bids are taken care of we may still get our first pick in the 40s which isn't too bad. Don't forget some of the later NGA bids will eat up picks that currently stand in the 30s and 40s (e.g. the awesomely named Windhager)

He's rated as the number 1 player in this draft by some in the AFL recruiting industry, the luminary Kinnear Beatson among them. Regardless of when his name is called out how fantastic is it that we will have another Darcy in our footy club? Bring it on!

Will be funny to see the third Darcy play for us, after watching his Gran Dad and Dad - both excellent footballers. David was never beaten at FB and played for the big V and most of us saw Luke play.

Hopefully Sam has inherited their genes and will be with us for years to come.

If we assume he goes at pick 2 that's pick 1 and pick 2 in the last two years.
We just need to be patient with our expectations as they two boys develop

One is compared to Franklin they other with Ben King. Have to be happy with that.

I will only watch it until the Darcy pick is confirmed. Thursday night is the interesting one for me.

Do we just have 2 more picks after Darcy or could it be 3?
