    I think he still has some way to go - his good bits were evened out by his ‘missing in action’ bits (behind his man/beaten to ball). There are references to him needing to build his tank and that might still be the case. He is a highlights package - having said that the best two marks taken on the day were by Woody and Young (liked that Young has gone back to backing himself in marking contests and not just going for the spoil)

        I’m sitting on park bench outside the G so not sure this will be in-depth. I was critical of Jong earlier in game but he must have finished with 30+ possessions but probably went at 50% efficiency. He is likely to get a nod as one of our better players. I thought Weightman enjoyed a run thru the middle and it gave the spectators something to see (versus being in fwd pocket).
        I liked Cavarra’s game, Hayes got plenty of it, Butler still to tidy up his disposal but got it a few times. Wood got better as the game progressed and Young/Cordy/Khamis all had good moments. Schache would be happy with his game as would Richards until his injury. Roarke got hurt early in the game and although he remained on the ground I think he was affected by the knock. Bedendo has a long way to go. JJ would still have more to do but was serviceable in my view. I’ve commented on Sweets game in other posts (break even game).
        For Bevo to think about....Jong, Schache, Cav, Wood then Cordy, Young, Khamis

                Not ever - can’t go past his AFL debut game. I’d say one of his better VFL qtrs since 2018. Small sample size obviously.

                            Thanks Smads57. Much appreciated. You provide great VFL reports. As I have mentioned I’m keen to get to a few VFL games at Whitten Oval during the year.

                                Can this be made the default 2021 VFL Season thread?

                                I wonder what the plan is for this weekend given we play the Eagles. Hopefully we have another practice match lined up with a Vic based team.
                                Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.
