Smads how's the general play been since the AFL 'Soften' the rules?
Is the game flowing better?
Yes - compared to the game last week against Ess however, we still managed to give away two free kicks as a result of not getting a second defender into the back 50 arc quick enough.

Just a couple of points re West. Got the ball a lot but geez, he either turned it over or took too long to move the ball on. I note that Josie sees him as a potential Libba replacement and in terms of his application and willingness to tackle, there are parallels but his disposal needs work.
In his favour...in that last 10-15 mins of the match when all the other players were out on their feet, he was still running across the ground - I think Bevo would have liked that.

Sounds like the stand outs were Jong, Khamis, Cavarra and West.
I’d add Garcia to that group too. Really liked his tackling and agility, some early Dahl vibes.
Of the others, Young was the better of him and Cordy. He kept running until the end whereas Cordy stopped. Weightman was busy and took some good marks. Very much an Elliot type. Butler had some good moments playing wing and HB, including a very nice kick inside 50. Schache took some strong contested marks and worked until the end, impressed with his game.
I realllly like Khamis.
Agree with Smads on West, liked the effort but very wasteful.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.
