As I recall Walker nominated 18 month contract and Sellwood 6 months.

It was a smart move by Sellwood to nominate 6 months meaning he gets the chance to train full time with an AFL club end he still has the option of heading back to WA

I haven't seen that reported anywhere and doesn't really agree with my info but either way he will be on the list next season.

Most MSD candidates will just be happy to get on a list. Usually only the ones that are in demand and certain they will be drafted can afford to demand a longer contract.

Sellwood could not debut this year but still has earned a 12 month extension based on his VFL form.

I'd like to see him after a full pre-season with us.

Look at Max Hall at the Saints mid-season draftee last year, didn't play a game in 2024, but now absolutely killing it.
More of an In Bruges guy?

Would suggest the likes of Baker, Poulter, JJ & McNeil might be playing for a spot on the list for 2026 tonight.

All have had a good crack at it, and they need to step up to the plate.

I get that, but if he fails against a good side again I would like to think he would be traded.

That seems highly unlikely. Regardless of what supporters think the match committee seem to rate him having only missed 2 games for the year (I think 1 was through injury) and both times he returned the following week.

Hopefully he either improves or is pushed out of the side by others next season but I can't see him going anywhere and he's not the worst depth.

He was an unused sub in one game and has been subbed off due to not getting near it in 2 more.... I feel he's playing out of necessity.

I would like to think that the likes of Weightman & Dolan become regular players in 2026, and McNeil becomes depth as mentioned... if he's happy to be last in the queue all good and well, but if wants to play regular AFL footy he would be advised to move on.

Anyway, he might come out tonight and show effort, the ability to execute his skills and be an effective member of the team which helps us to a good win... let's wait & see.

In fairness to McNeil in that unused sub game he reported as feeling ill at half time.
He then didn't play the following day because of that illness.
                          We made a medical decision.
