Sorry guys, had a bit of a late night working and the draft kind of slipped my mind.
St. Kilda
Pick 25 - Michael Talia
Two gaping holes on the Saints list are at either end of the ground, but the one at the back end is much greater. There is virtually no key defenders of any quality on the Saints list (Sam Fisher aside/doesn't count), and with speculation over Zac Dawson's future at the club, there might be no true key defenders period. So here, I figure they will go out and get the best one available, which is Talia. Question marks over his kicking, and being too far around himself, but he is simply the best key defensive prospect on the board, maybe in the whole draft.
- I'm a visionary - Only here to confirm my biases -
GVG, is Markworth best available in your eyes or is this a needs pick?
If so, is a rangy half back our most pressing need in the first round?
I'd be surprised if he goes within the top 20 so he's a bit of a speculative pick. The draft started to thin for mids with pace so I went for a versatile type with pace.
With Hargrave close to retiring and Murphy not that far behind that I think we are overlooking how hard it would be to replace them and I think Markworth being a bit older might make a good transition quickly.
My guess is that we will go with a more genuine midfielder but I wouldn't be disappointed with Markworth.
Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"
After a few of the other players the Crows wanted here were already selected, they have gone for the local boy. Can play half back and also take a run through the middle. Good user by foot and makes smart decisions. Played league footy, including finals and put in some solid performances for a youngster.
Together with fellow Norwood player Luke Brown, and Brodie Smith from last year the Crows now have a few young players who can swap through a range of positions and should all develop into AFL footballers.
Tall forward/Defender. With Glass and Lynch getting towards the end WCE's big man stocks need replenishing. Kennedy is a gun, but Darling is too small to be a second key forward and McInnes could play that role. He could also develop into a key defender to play alongside Mackenzie who improved significantly this year. He's had his injury problems, but has the attributes to work with.

The Bulldogs Bite sent me through this for Richmond which completes the first round.
Pick #26 Richmond - Jackson Paine
Thanks GVGjr.
Pick #26 Richmond - Jackson Paine
Paine is a KPF with a whole lot of talent. He's 194cms and has a good leap with an even better pair of hands. Very much a one grab player, and moreover, he positions himself really well in contests. Knows where the drop of the ball will be, and as a result uses his body to protect its flight. Does this all the time to good effect. Maybe the biggest plus is his ability to finish - a rare trait of key forwards. I think Piane could be drafted a lot earlier than here - he has some great tools already.
Richmond need support for Riewoldt. Desperately. Morton didn't work out, Post is ordinary and Griffiths is injury prone. They simply don't have enough goal kicking options and Miller won't suffice. Whilst another mid or a HBFer would be nice, they need to address their forward half a little more. Paine is a nice option; potential to be a solid second string forward at AFL level.
With Pick 29, the Fremantle Dockers select Sam Frost from the Sandy Dragons/VM.
Out of all the KPD's in the draft, Frost is by far the most athletic and perhaps the most audacious in his willingness to take on the opposition with run. With McPharlin, Johnson, Faulkes and Silvagni all ahead of him as KPD's, the Dockers can afford for Frost to play 12-18months of WAFL footy before being thrown to the Lions in 2013 when Grover retires.
Excited and surprised he is still on the board. Oh yeah - 194cm - 87kg.
