Re: Recruiting Rumour File 2013
Why? If he wants to go to GWS he can get there via PSD for nix.
I don't think he is the type of person the GWS will want in their club. I could see a Collingwood or Carlton going hard at him.Comment

You may be right. He does seem the type to walk for nothing into the PSD.Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.Comment

Or they could go Martin for Patton?Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

I'm not having a go at the thread, just thinking the Riewoldt Carlton link is just plain padding by SEN.Comment

Re: Recruiting Rumour File 2013
Why on earth would GWS do that? If GWS wants him and Martin agrees to their offer, then GWS grab him for free in the PSD. They are still free to trade Patton to another interested party for market value.Comment

Re: Recruiting Rumour File 2013
I get the idea but clubs generally look for a trade before trying to really begger each other. All's fair in love and war but I think GWS would try to find a reasonable trade (even though they would hold the upper hand) rather than heading straight for the PSD. The AFL and its enteral search for pretend equality seem to stop that sort of thing unless a club has pulled a stunt like Adelaide.Comment

Re: Recruiting Rumour File 2013
Sydney offered a second round pick (36) (and White who was barely seen in 2012) for Tippett knowing Adelaide and the game would suffer A LOT if they didnt bend over. Tippett was $900,000 a year over a long contract and is way more important than Martin. Money and power corrupts absolutely.Comment
