...really? OK. I thought it sucked and didn't last to the end of episode 2. I actually just couldn't find a relatable character...

Happy to go back and give it another go based on this pretty big wrap but where the hell is it going and WHY???
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Have you checked out Russian Doll yet? It's actually pretty cool. Just started watching Maniac with Emma Stone and Jonah Hill, it looks like it's going to be fairly interesting.

Also just finished Ozark...….quite liked it actually and thought it got into the story really quickly and well.
Russian Doll was great - would love for more seasons though I presume it'd have to be new characters.

Ozark is gripping - the whole first episode was a punch in the feels, and didn't really let up through both seasons.

For anyone that's had kids, the Let Down is pretty funny / real. I'm hoping they'll do more

Has anyone been watching the UK crime drama McMafia on SBS?

I'm three episodes in and really enjoying it. You have to pay attention as it is set in different countries and moves quickly.

SBS describes it as a "Global crime with a stylish twist – new series ‘McMafia’ is a thriller that lifts the lid on how the deadly world of organised crime has gone corporate".

          Well worth a watch.

A couple of episodes into the new Ricky Gervais comedy series After Life. Very good so far.

Yes, really enjoying it comrade. To me it does have a bit of 'Derek' about it. Loved Derek.

Maniac was really good in the end. Massive risk type TV that only a streaming service could get away with.

Not sure if there’s any Douglas Adams fans here, but the Dirk Gently double season was fun.

Bingeing BoJack Horseman at present, really cool effort from a unique cartoon format.

My daughter and I really loved Dirk Gently! Wish they'd gone for another season.

We've started After Life and it's great so far. My other daughter recommended it, she said she wanted to watch something depressing (she's 17) but reluctantly conceded that it was uplifting in the end. She's also a big fan of BoJack.

Re: Recommendations of All Things Netflix

Soooo, I started Love, Death and Robots about a week ago, some good stuff if you like sci-fi animation with a bit of gore.

Also finished Afterlife. I wasn't that enamoured with it, firstly because there were some interesting character development opportunities that were missed because it was only six episodes and secondly, much of it was Ricky Gervais walking around being Ricky Gervais. That's cool for people who like that sort of thing, a bit like people who watch TV shows about Todd Sampson with Todd Sampson in them, where the titles gives you the impression they're about something but in reality they're just about Todd Sampson because Todd Sampson.

I'm possibly being a bit harsh on Ricky because of Todd Sampson, as there was actually some really good concepts that were explored. It just seemed a bit thin on the ground.

Not sure if I mentioned Altered Carbon. Some really clever concepts and visuals, but like a lot of that type of sci-fi that's where the money goes meaning the dialogue can be a bit basic.

Oh....also burned through The Good Place this past week, which I actually really liked when at first a couple of years ago I didn't think I would so didn't watch past the first couple of episodes.

You might say there's not been a lot happening in my part of Hanoi, aside from pollution and humidity (I kid, I kid).

Jee I had just organised a box set of Todd Sampson shows as a gift for you, but reading between the lines it looks like you're not keen.

Edit: also, Love, Death and Robots had some great stuff and some edgy tripe - but well worth watching overall and that kind of experimental programming should be encouraged.

Since this thread popped up, I watched the Netflix Movie with Woody Harrelson & Kevin Coster with some other bigger name cameos, called The Highway Men.

A little slow to start, but worth the watch. About the two main men who brought down Bonnie & Clyde, so none of the BS mythology and glamour old movies gave to B&C who were just cop killers. B&C would be lucky to be in 2 minutes of the movie. Some of the facts they stuck true to were fascinating, as were some photos and info at the end. I spent another couple of hours then reading about some of the different themes away from B&C.
