Wake me up when we get to heaven, let me sleep if we're going to hell
Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath

Went to Union Dining on Swans St Richmond last night. Can highly recommend the food and atmosphere, with prices not too over the top.FFC: Established 1883

Re: Best Eats in Melbourne
I'm doing Kazukis degustation again for our anniversary. Every bit a two hat quality. Attica is by far and away above Australia's next best, but their new booking system of a minimum of 4 people a booking is hard to work around. They add is about 4 bite size extras not on the menu so you really feel good value for money and walk away feeling full, which doesn't always happen.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Re: Best Eats in Melbourne
For the degustation foodies, Kazukis in Daylesford is outstanding. You can do various forms of all carte courses at a good price for the quality, but the degustation is excellent. For those like me who wants to feel full as well as tasting good food, they have a great amuse bushe, palate clensing side, fresh baked bread and squid ink home made butter better courses if wanted and an option beef option at the end. The wine matching is great blend between French and local central Victorian wines, as well as different sakes. I love Attica, but this is easily the best bang for buck fine dining and they have a Morton bay dumpling and various Japanese sauces, foams and flavours. It could be the best ever dish humans have created. But you have to open to Japanese cooking like tataki and ceviche, which is brilliant.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Re: Best Eats in Melbourne
I'm sure you will. I went very recently again (why the new post) and built it up in my mind about how good it would be, and therefore with inflated expectation it would be a big let down. But they just nail everything, and it's not that big and just the three front of house staff but they're a solid unit. I didn't think I liked Japanese, and/or crossed with some European fusion... Turns out I love it. The joy of growing older and trying new things.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

I will definitely try Kazukis next time I am in Daylesford, sounds great. I think Daylesford is one of the best country Victoria towns and has really come along in the last 10 plus years.FFC: Established 1883

Re: Best Eats in Melbourne
Definitely take your knock offs at The Catfish then. Really awesome beers on tap (they had a keg of Epic Triple IPA pumping there at my last visit), and usually have cool local bands playing upstairs.- I'm a visionary - Only here to confirm my biases -Comment
