Re: Best Eats in Melbourne
For anyone who is a fan of the show, the Iron Chef's are coming to Melbourne. I have to admit I love the show, we'll often have it playing in the background while cooking dinner on a weekend. Although the North American dubbing probably adds to the value.
I'm hoping to get a table for myself and the Mrs.

Re: Best Eats in Melbourne
THANK YOU! That sounds awesome, I think I might convince the better half to give it a whirl too. I'd take this over fat duck, and a chance to meet my hero Chen Sun. Couldn't be a better proposition, as long as soup or a fruit based dessert aren't in the 6. Awesome.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Re: Best Eats in Melbourne
I will give it a taste, before asking my wife to eat it so I don't look rude for not eating it.... I don't think me child version of me would ever have thought of tasting some stuff I've tried and liked. But It's the one thing that annoys me with tasting menus is the cheap dish they fill the menu with, soup and fruit desserts annoy me most. But 6 genuine dishes from these guys is a tantalising option. Consider pre-booking won't have 10% in tips on top, so it's really $340 with wine/sake which is about right.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Had a couple of friends who live in Cambodia nowadays staying over at the moment, and went to Builders Arms (Fitzroy/Collingwood?) tonight and really enjoyed the meal. Have been a couple of times now, and the dining experience always impresses.Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?Comment

Re: Best Eats in Melbourne
I went to Dig a Pony on Saturday night and I'm sorry to report it was really disappointing. That's not to say it was bad, it was a solid 3/5, but it was previously a 4.5/5. The staff were mostly new and didn't seem to know much about the menu or the wine list, the portion sizes were a bit smaller, and while the menu was mostly similar, the subtle changes were by and large to the detriment of the dish.
Perhaps they've had an ownership change, or maybe a change of chef, but I wouldn't describe it as the hidden gem of the West based on the weekend's effort.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Had a good steak at Rare tonight. I think Railway Club Hotel has them covered for quality but in all honesty I had no complaints.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Re: Best Eats in Melbourne
It's probably still worth a go, they may have just had a bad night, and it's night as if it was bad. I'd be keen to hear the thoughts of someone who hadn't been there previously, they suffer from the standards they've set for themselves in the past.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment
