Terrible. Absolutely woeful. Almost enough to make me throw it in.

Still, Dany will at least be remembered for bringing Starbucks to Winterfell.

      Re: Game of Thrones

Well after last nights viewing I hope they don't rush the ending.
I realise there would be a lull after such a big battle but the sense I got last night was 'Lets tie this up and finish it'

Losing a dragon with no retaliation was a bit weak. Dany could have swung around the island and attacked from behind and torched the lot. Thus saving most of her fleet.
I hope the next two episodes are better.

        Re: Game of Thrones

Geez this season is not going well.

2 really boring episodes, 1 slightly boring episode, one incredibly dark episode which was underwhelming. Unless these next two episodes are epic this may go down as the limpest end to anything in a long time.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

              Re: Game of Thrones

I saw someone compare this series to my favourite manga/anime series Full Metal Alchemist.

FMA was an anime based on a manga series (like Dragon Ball Z was) which caught up to it's source material. Rather than create 'filler' so the source could go on ahead they decided to take the anime in it's own direction with it's own plot and the quality noticeably declined.

Years later they made another anime called Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood that followed the source story to the end and it was far more satisfying.

I suspect that Game of Thrones will ultimately have a similar fate where a new TV series or movie franchise will retell the story in it's entirety and do a better job with the ending.

While Game of Thrones made it much further into the story before surpassing the books there's enough changed/cut content that it might be worth a revisit some day. Eg Night King vs Night's King and Lady Stone (keeping it vague so people can avoid book spoilers. I also don't know much about the book differences here I just know they exist)

Why didn't she see the enemy's huge naval fleet from the air? Why didn't she just fly directly above them where the ballistae can't shoot and light them up from there? How were the first three bolts so accurate when the dragons were further away, but 50 of them couldn't hit a target coming straight at them? How could they have possibly been so accurate in the first place being fired from a moving, rolling ship aiming at a target racing through the air? Why didn't.... How come.... Why don't....

So frustrating. I hope the coffee was good.

Headshot too. Bronn couldn't pull that one off when stationary.

Not to mention when they hit him they were shooting from round the corner out of sight so must have been shooting blind. Also why did she fly at them all suicidal like, only to bail after they all missed? And if she just doubles round behind them she can burn all their ships seeing as they only had the big crossbows on the front so turning them round would involve shooting at their own masts and ships.

That bit was stupid, but the whole episode was incredibly boring.

It's like last season with the Night King and his giant chains dragging the Dragon out of the water sometimes you shouldn't read to much into it. I mean if you're looking for realism why are you watching a show about Dragons and Zombies at war?

The last war was never going to be one sided otherwise the series would have ended last episode. I'm hoping they make some sort of Dragon armour and burn the place down.

Total cop out response. Even in a fantasy world, if you establish certain rules you should stick to them. Simple as that. I've got no time for rubes who say "it's a show with zombies and magic what do you expect"? You can think that if you want G, but I think it's a cop out.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Benioff and Weiss were obviously very good at translating source material into a tv script, but out on their own they are absolutely atrocious and they deserve the scorn they're getting.
