Trusty Chords.
I'm rediscovering Hot Water Music all over again and it's been a good time.Time and Tide Waits For No ManComment

They were a genuine two-hit wonder, alongside The Romantics. I always enjoyed the two-hit wonders more than the one-hit wonders - not many bands had lightning strike only twice at different stages of their career."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

I saw the Romantics in 1981 or 1982, They were the band where the drummer sang weren't they?. It was at one of those Rocktober shows with the Numbers (genuine one hit wonders-Five Letter Word)They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

Hello Dolly, Louie Armstrong
Little Green Bag - George Baker
Glory to the World - Three Dog Night
Incidentally, I didn't know this but three dog night refers to Australian aboriginal slang for 'it's a cold night'. They used to dig a hole in the earth and sleep with dogs. The band read this and liked it. I guess everyone knows that, I didn't!You don't develop courage by being happy in your relationships every day. Did you know that nobody knows how Louis Armstrong pronounced his own first name? In Hello Dolly he goes with Louis with the hard S (Well hello Dolly. It's Louis, Dolly) but that's the narrator of the song speaking and the one thing that almost everyone agrees on was he didn't pronounce it like that. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.👍 1Comment

I just am so obsessed with this tune......we used to play it on our technics system, as I've probably said earlier my mum has amazing taste in music and sound quality and for a family of our socio economic level we always had sound covered compared to more well heeled families (as far as the now middle eastern suburbs are concerned of course!).
I will add a classic from the 90's. Smashing pumpkins 'Today'. Apart from having the words 'today is the greatest day I've ever known', it has a pretty uplifting feel to it. Worked for me when I was a teenager.Comment

There's a thread worth starting, "bands/artists that your parents got you into" I can still remember nearly 40 years ago finding a box full of Frank Sinatra records one night when my parents had gone out and left me home alone. It's still a huge joke in the family that mum and dad got home to find me asleep on the floor with "Something Stupid" playing on the record player over and over again. I've always loved Frankie ever since
It wasn't mum that gave us Fischer Z, it was me and my stupid brother who were always going to be Brit Pop wankers and techno wankers that took the dose in preparation for our future lives.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment
