Frank Farian was the evil genius/svengali behind both Boney M and Milli Vanilli. He sang the male lead on all Boney M songs that were cosplayed by Bobby Farrell, and he also put together the entire Milli Vanilli concept from scratch, surmising that the two good looking members of the band would shift more units than the less marketable real singers.

His instincts were right both times, sad as it is to say.
