    Re: MLB post season

Bump - 2016 could well be the global year of drought / ground breaking wins.

Cubs / Dodgers tied at 2 in the NLCS (well at least it will be shortly) while the Indians are already through to the World Series.

Man, I'm hoping for a Cubs/Indians WS with Cubs finally winning it all.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

The Indians have a bulldog drought like heartbreak
Lost a heartbreaking w/s to the marlins in 97 as well
Probably a bit like losing a g/f to the Giants at the time

Dare I say it, this is as big as the Bulldogs making the Grand Final!

The Cubs have been the Bulldogs, without the good luck. This is momentous. 71 years since they so much as lost a World Series. 108 since they won. Unbelievable.

I wonder if Chicago1 was at the game? He's probably in the middle of the party in downtown Chicago right now.

I thought he moved back to Australia around the GF.

Wouldn't it be awesome to be present at the breaking of both droughts? If C1 was at Wrigley field today then he must be the only person in the World to be at the MCG for the bulldog premiership and there to see the Cubs win their way onto the WS.

Unfortunately I did not make it to last night's game. My brother and I were both in the lottery for tickets, but didn't win. Standing Room were going on Stubhub for over $400. We went last year and we were at Wrigley to watch the Mets win the NL Championship. That was not easy to watch.

I stayed at home to watch on TV with my late mum's pink Cubs cap next to me. My dad, a White Sox fan, died 14 months before the White Sox won the World Series in 2005. Mum was a one-eyed Cubs fan who died at 90 in June. I knew she would die sometime this year and told her she just had to stick around until November to see the Cubs in a WS. That, sadly, was not to be. But just like I knew that her spirit was with me at the Grand Final, I know that she'll be with me the next week or so. Last Wednesday would have been her 91st birthday. I put flowers on her grave. Tomorrow I am going to put a Cubs shirt on her gravestone, but make sure that none of it falls on my dad's side of the gravestone, though maybe I should, just to rub it in!

What a year 2016 will be for drought breaking. Leicester (more underdog), Cleveland cavaliers, Doggies, Cronulla and now the Cubs or Indians. Just amazing. Cmon cubbies get it done!!!

Chicago1, I'm guessing from you're comments that for a city with 2 teams, supporters of the team no longer in the running do not root for their intra-city brother? ie white sox fans will want the Indians to win?

What a year it would be for you if both the doggies and Cubs break their enormous droughts within a month of each other.

You have the feel for the Indians.

Would be the only time in history a team that hasn't won in 60 odd years isn't the sentimental favourite.

What a year! Its just amazing how many success starved teams have got the the chocolates this year and either way of the result in the WS there will be another one.

Have enjoyed the post season as i usually do but it certainly makes it more enjoyable to see teams like the Cubs & Indians get there. I'll be hoping the Cubs get there but its a really tough one to pick and could go all the way to game 7 to decide it.

Nothing quite like post season baseball. I find it tough to watch a game that doesn't have my Tigers in it during the regular season but post season baseball is a must watch no matter who is playing.
