Chicago1, I'm guessing from you're comments that for a city with 2 teams, supporters of the team no longer in the running do not root for their intra-city brother? ie white sox fans will want the Indians to win?

What a year it would be for you if both the doggies and Cubs break their enormous droughts within a month of each other.
I'm sure that some White Sox fans will be "rooting" for a Cubs win, but I'd say the far majority wouldn't be. The White Sox winning in 2005 was horrible for most Cubs fans, me included. The White Sox will always be the second baseball team in this city. The police reported that there were 300,000 people around Wrigley on Saturday. The Cubs had the highest average attendance in road games in 2016. Imagine, especially this year, if Wrigley Field could hold more than its capacity of a little over 41,000! Even in 2012 when the Cubs lost 101 games, they still were 10th in attendance.

In 2005 the White Sox had around 1.75 million people at their victory parade. I can imagine the Cubs pulling 3 million if they win. Hopefully I'll be there if it happens..

Cubs road games are like home stands .
Was hoping the Cubs or Indians would win the W/S, and the Indians lost a heartbreaker in 97 ( sounds familiar )
For non baseball types bit like losing to GWS in a GF ( Florida marlins ) the marlins proceeded to undergo a fire sale after winning it .
Reckon the Indians will run a lot on Lester, he's been brilliant but he gets the yips throwing to first and has tossed his glove to first

Stole a base early in the first. Seemed to affect Lester as he then walked the next 2 batters which is very unlike him.
1-0 Indians now with bases loaded and 2 out

and now he hits a batter. 2-0. 3 walks in the first. Lester could have a very short night here.

Couldn't have imagined a worse start.

In the end it came down to the Cubs not executing on offence. So many strikes out swinging.

Well it is a well known analogy but is so well served for this: the cubs' offence is very hit or miss. They're either hot or cold

He has been off recently, surprising they changed it up to have him pitching second.

                            Talk about sliding doors
Jonathan luceroy ,(brewers catcher) refused a trade to Cleveland instead going to Texas, and now Roberto Perez who was playing minor league comes up huge in the catcher position !

Might prefer Hendricks on the mound at Wrigley
