The batting positions are fluid depending on the state of the game and I think that's a smart move. Maxi has been coming in at suitable times, he just hasn't quite been able to put it together (apart from against Bangladesh when he was run out by Usi when he was flying). I didn't think his shot against England was terrible, just messed up the execution.
Sorry, confused myself, I thought he came in after Maxi, but you are right, that was a previous game.

Re: World Cup Squad - 2019

Is anyone else worried that our running between the wickets is still a bit stop-start and may come back to bite us at a vital stage of the tournament? Everything else seems to have bedded down nicely but I still worry about run outs.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

The Stoinis run out was worse than backyard cricket. I agree it is an issue.

            What are your thoughts?

Very lucky. Have really enjoyed the cricket this last month and Tuesday was a great game.

I'm a little more inclined to leave Smith at 3 if possible. He is hard to dismiss, especially if he is not asked to chase runs quickly. He also partners other batsmen well. Khawaja is his own worst enemy. he looked really comfortable again the English and then tried to drive one that wasn't really there to drive. The game didn't need hie to do that, and all it succeeded in doing was expose Maxwell and Stoinis about 5 overs too early. Either way, I can't see Marsh coming into the side (maybe for the SA game if its a dead rubber)

Maxwell at 5, is probably one position too high and Stoinis at 6 is one position too high, but we are gambling that our top 4 can get us to to 230 and the bottom 6 another 40 to 60 runs and its working. If I had a tweak to the batting line up I would probably look to move Carey up to 6 and Stoinis at 7.

Stoinis' fault. Ironically it was also his fault in the warm up game. Stoinis doesn't rotate the strike. He is a crisp striker of the ball, but he doesn't rotate the strike very well. The run out on Tuesday was him not listening to Smith's calls. He is the one batsman who Smith doesn't bat well with.

Not sure he was, been a poor tournament for Maxie with the bat.

We've taken some nice catches and bowled well and even the part timers have chipped in.

NZ will be hoping their net run rate doesn't take a beating now

I know, and as a Pakistan cricket fan I was very worried when AFG got over the 200, the way Imad and Shadab was turning the ball, I expected it to be a hard slog against Mujeeb, Nabi and Rashid, and it was. I went to bed and woke to see them 5/145 and felt sick haha, but glad to see them get the job done. Poms now officially out of the 4. Huge game for them tonight against India.

To think Australia were $6.50 on Sportsbet to win the WC at the beginning, now they’ve dropped to $2.75. Even when their top order fails, they seem to be able to crank out a 250 score which gives their bowling attack a great chance. I feel they will be very hard to beat in the finals.
I will never see #16 the same!!

Starc is absolutely unbelievable in this form of the game. Stats put him as the the greatest ODI bowler in history. Hard to disagree

Makes it tough for England to make the 4. They need to beat India and New Zealand, or else they rely on Bangladesh beating Pakistan

Both Maxwell and Stoinis haven't done enough with the bat.
