Head has to come back in for Warner or Renshaw.

Cummins bowled the worst I have ever seen from him. Line and length were uncharacteristically off. Lyon some good balls but too many loose ones.

Boland and Murphy at least kept things tight. Murphy excellent control for his first time bowling in test cricket.

Murphy looked our best bowler - really threatening from around the wicket. I think India will come out and put the pressure on him today. Rohit looks in unreal form and this is exactly his kind of situation, he'll be going at the young off-spinner today.

Agree with Axe that it was a horrendous start from Cummins. Compare that to what Shami and Siraj were able to do and really put us under pressure from the start, he let Rohit and KL off the hook. Think he'll come back hard today, he's that kind of player.

Is it just me in feeling that Ashwin is a hugely underrated player?

450 wickets at 24 apiece and more than 3000 runs at 27 with 5 centuries is a bloody incredible record. His career numbers are pretty on-par with someone like Richard Hadlee, but he's never spoken about in that company.

I think in Australia his reputation is hurt by how ineffective he has been here. It's obviously not easy for most spinners in Australia, but he has still been largely disappointing. On the subcontinent he's an entirely different proposition.

Murphy has picked up 2 wickets today. Renshaw looks to have done a knee. This return to test cricket has not been hind to him

I read that he was born in Echuca but grew up in Moama. How does it work on the border with which state they represent?

I guess you'd still get to choose, its not really like state of origin is it?

Didn't get to watch this afternoon/ evening, though was told by my bro that our veteran bowlers in Lyon and Cummings were all over the shop and struggled to put pressure on. Was that the case?

Great effort from Murphy to take five on debut. Magnificent stuff.
                              TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Cummins wasn't impressive but the off stump of Sharma cartwheeling was a highlight.
Lyon bowled better later in the day and Boland was very good but had no luck.
